This software will need to be ran in compatibility mode as it was designed for Windows XP and will not work properly on Vista without running it in compatibility mode. Follow Microsoft's instructions here:

"DLL loading failed"

firstly try to install the driver in vista in compatibility mode

If you really can’t find Windows Vista driver for your hardware, you can try to fool the driver installation program to install in Windows Vista
By using Windows Vista Compatibility Mode so that the driver installation program think it is installing in Windows XP mode.

Not compatable with windows vista ?\the program doesn't start and gives a fatal error loading the opening book

PC (Windows 98 / Me / XP)

It was made before vista, however some programs do work for vista. This unfortunatly isn't one of the lucky ones.

However, you could try googling programs that emulate pre vista os. That or buy a small Harddrive (around 5-10gb cheap) so you could play older games. Good luck.
