HDD and OS problems!

History: I bought this computer in 2009 from Best Buy, I was young, It was an ASUS manufactured PC. Everything in it came from ASUS, the motherboard, OS software, etc. About 8 months ago this PC's motherboard died. So I had to get it updated. I got a brand new MSI motherboard, new RAM, a new Power supply. However, the people fixing my computer had issues finding a windows vista copy to install onto my HDD. They finally got one, and it always would tell me upon logging into my desktop, that this Vista OS was not genuine, however it didn't matter since I had my PC back again working brilliantly. I'd also like to note the only software I got for my new motherboard was a MSI utilities and drivers disc. Current Issue: Well 2 weeks ago or so I get home to my computer displaying a black screen "please insert disc and reboot" I restarted my computer and saw that I had SMART errors now, and my HDD was dying. Well tonight was the nail in the coffin and it did die. However, I have a back up HDD for this. I hooked up my back up HDD, thats never been used, up to my computer. I have a old XP professional OS I was going to use on it. Since I don't have whatever OS the people that fixed my computer 8 months ago had. So I inserted the disc, restarted my computer. And now when my computer starts up it just goes to the screen that says: "A hardware or software change has been made, please insert your disc and repair." Followed by the common: Start in Sade Mode, Safe Mode w/ Networking, Last working succesful start up, or start normally. Now usually when you start a computer up with a new HDD it'll give u options to go into BIOS. I figured I'd be able to go into BIOS and start up from my CDROM drive, but It won't let me enter BIOS. Upon starting up it says press DEL for options or F11 for start up options. I keep hitting DEL and nothing happens. So I basically don't know how to install window xp professional onto this HDD, since it won't let me BIOS. Please someone help! The irony behind this all is within 2 weeks I start IT classes at a local college haha.

Dell e510 powers on but only shows black screen.

so 2 boot drives fail? hdd?
the drives must not be erased or empty. and must have and OS installed? and not fail S.M.A.R.T testes or is useless if does.

so did this PC ever run before, your eyes? or bought it DOA.?
history matters.
this PC is 2005/2006 made, a true relic in the PC world.
no display make nor model told if it too is 2005, the CCFL back lamps LCD are dead, making black screens for eternity and now.
the PC CMOS coin cell is dead. must be replaced for new.
most HDD this old are dead.
try new HDD and coin cell and working monitor
try loaded fresh OS on the tested and working HDD.
a new SSD is better.

Replace hdd on asus a10 all in one et2221

How to replace, (the word how missing ) means many things.
but there NO HDD here, ok? its SSD already but pathetic in size.

but on any computer, old. (generic answer, more later)
1: we buy new SSD , HDD are old and slow, and we bet SSD.
2: then we install it, means remove old and put in new. (screws out then back in , all)
3: then we install the OS from scratch, there is no OS now, so must be installed fresh and new, (no OS stated by you)
Asus, All-in-One (AIO) A10 fake desktop it is.
there are man sub models of this PC.
here is the top of the list of 10 models. IUKH sub.
it's 6 years old.
https://www.asus.com/us/supportonly/ET2221IUKH/HelpDesk_Manual/

this lame AIO came with (2 options)
16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
(drive space) pathetic is the word here , not any good for W10.

this toy grade PC has no service manual not even a full spec.
what it has inside I guess is a early form of M.2 SSD.
it does not have a real spinning (rust) HDD.
not at all. I bet its not bad the SSD, only too full.
16GB is hopeless, sized, windows live updates will kill that space dead.
Some of these PCs have a soldered down FLASH I.C. chip as seen 2009 era (and can not be replaced)
old: 2009? mSata device (mini-sata)
as tech and the lack of ASUS spec. sheets. or service manuals of any kind...
but but… first..... things ,first.....
we see if the 16GB is full. and fix that.(clean it)
if not full and boots ok, with free space (1/2 empty is best practice) do that now.... ask how.

if needing more space, SURE, we then open the AIO up, full only and find this silly 16GB wonder chip, to see if it can be replaced at all.?
if not we just scrap it this PC. (2013 made)
some of these cheap PC can not be upgraded.
but if there is a Msata card or real SATA DRIVE, yes.
1: find the 16GB device, it is NOT any HDD, but early SSD.
2: then try to upgraded it, (look first and tell what is there)

some other submodels (unstated by you )
do have a real HDD dead center, rear (case back off)
just below the fan, metal cover off that and here.

what you have , we will never know until you learn to post full model numbers.

I have an ASUS X202E laptop the screen has white and gray vertical and horizontal lines, is the display bad?

6 year old PC today. not that old. pretty new'ish.
wow , you said. this.
run with the large battery out first?
run on AC pack only first? so the PC can have full power and run best , first?>
does the external screen fail, you did not say!
no photos of screen posted.
what did the VGA port do, unstated, only you can login to windows stated, but what about lines.
when did Pc last run perfectly.
did you drop the PC, or hit the screen?
did you try flex the screen with 2 hands
and see if the LINES change, if yes, bad screen.

did buy this PC like this, Bad,?

Seems (me blind) like a bad LCD (damage or cables)
if mobility is not needed
run external screen for ever.
most times a used VGA monitor for $40 is way way cheaper than fixing any old laptop, for $200 parts and labor.
see? and econ 101 solution.

I recently replaced the HDD in my ASUS F452EA, I need to download the OS for Windows 8 so i can re-install Windows 8 from a repair disc. Can someone help me PLEASE

what country are you , the world huge, and ASUS has support by regions.
Notebook PC it is. 2012 made,
why ask here, we are not ASUS.
go to ASUS, and ask them ,ok?

microsoft does not sell w8 now, only 7 and 10 only. ask for link.

8 is (failure to them at MS, so they ended sales on w8)
so upgrade to 10. or beg Asus for your install media.
the hdd is now empty and blank
there is no ASUS recovery partitions now. they are now gone
ASUS shows w7/8/8.1/10 support for drivers on you support page
so buy w10 and install it. and get missing drivers from Asus.

here is the only page at ASUS that even comes close to answring
where is my windows re-install media kit.

https://www.asus.com/us/support/article/782/

that is all there, is,
id buy w10 from windows, then get the drivers missing from asus
support page.

Hi, Every time I start up my eee pc 1101HA I have an error message : "Asus eee pc acpi service encountered a problem and needs to close..." If I close the pop up comes back immediately. I have...

it is power problem, ACPI
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
best is reload the OS from scratch.
not old 2009 made is is. and the battery is dead this old.
bought a dead pc>/
Found it in garage sale dead.
it ran for years failed just now. out of the blue dead?
or upgraded the OS and fails. sure easy w10 killled it. sure.
it does run windows 8.1 ! via asus support page yes.
or put in a new RTC CMOS battery first. non last 9 years
and 1/2 that in box in and hot attic even less. stored.
the coin cell is always first working on any old PC
below 2.9vdc the battery is doomed (weak is cliff of deathh)

I have acer aspire m1100,relic i forgot what OS I run...

NO OS told , but is 2008 relic AMD chips ATI SB600
has zero support now for the OS or the maker,Acer.
just happen out of the blue? or bought a relic failing PC, no history told blue? when did login';s last work great.
was good but not now, the OS is corrupted or the HDD is bad.
this is a 2007 vISTA PC, oct 2009 is w7 and your PC is older
The OS can be hacked easy VISTAS login hacks.
but..
but if still fails the HDD is bad as most are 9 years old even 5yo.
we run full smart tests in a shop on any old PC we run that on the HDD if fails it is a no good drive.
buy a new boot drive and load VISTA 32 or 64bit only
there is no w7 hear. seen here and proof.
and AMD also ended all nforce chip support /

https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/support-product/338?b=1

but you have no Vista install disks./

Problem of starting the Window XP

Hi can you disconnect the hdd or to make it simpler disable the hdd in cmos configuration and boot the PC , if you still see the same web address on your screen as you have mentioned then you have to program your PC Bios otherwise it is not necessary to Update the Bios but it is indeed very much necessary to clean HDD and reinstall the OS.
