Yes here is the manual for it.

now you will see this picture on page 5
compatibility - 768816d.jpg now where it says 6 this is your line input. Now you will plug in a subwoofer cable to this and on back of your receiver to the subwoofer output. and you now must enable the subwoofer option in the setup menu of receiver i think it would be under speaker configuration.

so the answer is yes it would.

Sub woofer not receiving signal from onkyo HTR520 , bought it in 2007, it works when hooked up to another source. can it be hooked up without using the sub woofer out put on the onkyo

The best thing to try is a factory reset of the Onkyo. The subwoofer out may be stuck off, even if the settings say its on.

hold down the Video 1 and Power on/ Standby buttons. The display should say Clear, then enter standby

turn it on and try the sub again.

since its a powered sub, you're not going to have much of a choice in other outputs without extreme distortion.

also, if that model has two zones, make sure zone 2 is off.

My receiver is not picking up the subwoofer, there is noise coming from the sub when I'm playing with the conection. The speakers are working and im getting prefect sound from them Please help.....

It would be helpful to know if this is a new problem on working equipment or a new problem on NEW equipment. And if you've flipped through the manual without success.

Of course you KNOW the sub must have its own amp, right?

First, you need to determine if the Onkyo or the unnamed sub is at fault.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Onkyo-TX-SR608-Receivers-manual/id/23653ag916/t/2/

At the Onkyo, check to make sure you have run the speaker setup starting on Page 40. If that doesn't work...

Disconnect the subwoofer pre-out at the Onkyo and move it to the VCR Out, tune an FM station and be ready for some real loud subwoofer output if your sub has no volume control of its own. If you can hear the sub, it works and it's back to the Onkyo. If not, the unnamed sub

I have an Onkyo HT-R8230 receiver and I can not get any sound out of the center channel or the subwoofer. The sub will not even power on. It stays in the standby mode and there is no manual on/off button...

The manual is available at retrevo.com.

If you don't have the center and sub defined in the Onkyo they will never work. See page 20.

If that is all set and you still have problems...

To prove the center speaker works, connect it to one of the front channels.

To prove the sub works, connect it via RCA cable(s) to the Tape Out and play something containing deep bass. You should see it come out of standby and hear something, albeit only the deep bass.

Is my txsr605 compatible with a dxrd511

Yes it will. Connect it using the ins and outs of one of the "Tape" inputs and it should work very well.

Powered Or Unpowered Subwoofers For Onkyo TX-8511

Greg- Powered subs are better than non-powered subs (also known as passive subs), anyway I see the TX-8511 has no sub pre-out on the back panel, so you need to decide what sub you will use and run from the receivers left and right speakers output into a subwoofers speaker in from speakers then back out to speakers, look at the back of a subwoofer and you will see like 4 sets of speaker hookups 2 in and 2 out, what this does is takes the low end or bass and drops the signal to the subwoofer then takes the mids and highs out to your left and right speakers, unless your regular left and right stereo speakers have large woofers a sub is the way to go.

Onkyo HT-R530 with powered speakers

I would not suggest hooking up powered speakers to your receiver. Only if unit has sub woofer output can you hook up powered speaker

Subwoofer goes to sleep

The receiver automatic speaker set-up set the sub volume at -12 and since it was not getting any signals from the receiver it was doing what it is supposed to be doing (going to the standby mode). This was troubleshooted by Onkyo tech support on a Sunday. All the best about Onkyo customer support.
