The 1120 can come either of 3 controllers. Find the speed control and adjust it to your desired speed. If you have the Pilot Controller the speed dial knob is at the rear of the controller. Be sure to fully charge the batteries after each use and check all connections for tightness.

Based on your description you should purchase new motor brushes for both motors and replace them. This will be a short term improvement. You should block up the chair in the air and run in the brushes by taping the joystick forward and running the motors forward for 1 hour and in reverse 1/2 hour NO LOAD. This will seat the brushes on the armature, that is, get a curve on them. If your budget allows, prepare for motor gearbox replacement in the next year.
this hydrostat drive tractor is designed to max at 5.5 mph forward, 2.5 in reverse, check linkage at pedal if you dont think your achieving those speeds
contario With little information other than what you are telling me your problem seems to be the joystick. If the chair's joystick will make the motors turn your chair but won't go forward or back then the problem is in the joystick and will have to replaced. Sorry hope this helps
No, the controller must be reprogrammed and you will need an Invacare service tech to bring his hand-held programmer over to make the corrections to the chair.
Sounds like your joystick is damaged. This chair probably has a PG Drives Technology joystick that serves as both the joystick control and acts as the power control module. If it has been damaged by say, running into a wall or doorway or table, this can be the cause, or if it has gotten moisture inside it, that will hurt it as well. Other possibilities are overloading the chair past its weight capacity or driving it over unstable terrain like sand, gravel, much etc.
2. To lock the chair, depress and hold the ON/OFF button. After one second the controller will beep. Release the ON/OFF button. Move the joystick forward until the control beeps. Move the joystick in reverse until the control beeps. Release the joystick. There will be a long beep that indicates the controller is locked.
3. To unlock, turn the control system on. The speed/response indicator will be rippling up and down. Move the joystick forward until the control beeps. Then move the joystick in reverse until the control beeps. Release the joystick. There will be a long beep that indicates the controller is unlocked.
