My John Deere 2354hv moves slow in forward evenb slower in reverse
This hydrostat drive tractor is designed to max at 5.5 mph forward, 2.5 in reverse, check linkage at pedal if you dont think your achieving those speeds

Firstly remove the battery and battery tray and clean all grass and debris from around the hydrostatic drive and cooling fan. Secondly check the drive belt idler pulley, arm and spring for free travel. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

If traction drive belt is turning you should check the input drive shaft on top of trans to see if it is turning as well,Traction drive belt is suspect but could be a stripped out input shaft pulley.Make sure the machine tow lever is not pulled out,rear of machine by tow hitch.Also pull rubber caps off of both axle ends to see if one the axles is turning free inside of rim,if so remove wheel and replace axle key.
