Recent power failure at the house, with power surges. When power was restored, TV only blinks continuous in the standby indicator. Nothing else happens. I tried unplugging the Tv all day, without any result. Can you help?
If there are no blinks, do you hear a click when you try to turn on the TV set? If you do not, you have a problem with the standby power supply. Let us know how much electronic troubleshooting experience you have so I can decide on how to explain how to fix.
sorry sgregg, but those codes you listed are old, and yes while a few do still mean what it states, there are differant codes now for a lot of differant sets by Sony, such as the list you provided do not include the 9 or the 10 blink codes. you should check this out. http://www.techlore.com/article/15444/So...

I suspect a power board failure but to be sure i would have to know how many times your light is blinking as there is a code to it. please repost with number of blinks. This is a common problem with this brand of sony televisions as far as I can tell from what i have been reading online. If you are still under warranty you should contact Sony. If you need further help from an expert please let us know the number of blinks.
Continuous Blink Once A Second, No Pausing means that there is No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground or held high), IK video path is defective.

All I hear is a click, the the standby light blinks continuously. I have no real experience. Such a big, cumbersome TV I was hoping to try to fix it before I tried to move it. Thanks in advance.
