Win XP Pro freezes when trying to use the Dynex wireless G card
Win XP Pro runs fine until I load the Dynex software and drivers, after loading Dynex the computer freezes about 30-60 seconds after windows starts (everytime). Trying to use Dynex Wireless G Desktop Card.
Re: Win XP Pro freezes when trying to use the Dynex...
Dynex Wireless-G Desktop Adapter is making my Win XP freeze within seconds after logging in. I've tried uninstalling, installing about 5 times. I'm doing everything by the install directions, nothing seems to help. It's a Compaq Presario Desktop.

had same problem with loading win xp proff on cf 74 toughbook mk1. soution for me was downloading sata hdd controller from panasonic toughbook support site, loading the driver onto floppy drive, using usb floppy with driver ready to use, loading win xp profesional and on first loading win screen pressing f6 when prompted at beginning of win intallation, when on screen instructions to load sata driver appeared, i followed on screen instructions and loaded 3rd option from floppy sata drive mobile driver, left usb installed untill xp loaded and running, do not remove usb floppy untill win loaded, i really hope this helps you
Make sure Wireless Zero Config is running. Try to uninstall the wireless assitant software that came with the laptop (NOT THE WIRELESS CARD DRIVERS!!) and use the built in windows wireless assistant. (Usuelly does the job untill you deside someday to format your computer.)
you should check the compatibility of the drivers you are installing with your windows xp, it may be designed for vista or 7, then If it is already compatible, try to plug the card first and then run the setup.
win xp is 10 years out of date so you have lost the driver for the printer by the upgrade
If you go to the hp web site there may be still a down load for your model printer that is compatible to win xp
if so select that and down load it
run the down load when asked
AS win xp , win 7 are both out of date and no longer supported by Microsoft you should consider installing win 10
Found the Dynex cd buried in my files for the past half dozen years or so....Took about a minute to load......Included drivers from SE thru XP.....Had downloaded the files from Dynex but decided to do one more search for the cd....David
first update the bios of your system.
Then remove the drivers using safe mode, Download new drivers from nvidai web site ( do not use the drivers on the vga's cd). Disable any antivirus software and try again.
Same problem here. PC freezes with 30 seconds of installing the drivers.
