Disconnect the power adapter 2) disconnect the battery too 3) Press the power and hold the switch button power by 60 seconds. Then proceed in reverse and Power again and can be fix it.Of course if the problem remain test the memory from your pressing the key f2 or f9 depending of your modell in the reboot and go to the test memory.
God bless you

SOURCE: Failed intrenal power supply on HP Pavilion dv6700

Before you go thru all that, HP has an extended warranty for 6 and 9K units with Video and Power startup problems.
They have added an extra year to the original warranty and it would be to your benefit to check first.
Email customer care and issue a repair request.
You can chat with a tech and find out in no time yes or no.
If you log a issued complaint, they may review it in your favor.

SOURCE: My hp laptop won't power up. I bought a new power cord and connected to my laptop and the power light won't come on, so what esle can i do to get power to my laptop?

Have you followed the Guided Troubleshooting steps provided on the HP Support web site?

These will take you through a series of checks and decisions to try to isolate the cause of the problem along the following lines:

1. Are you sure you are plugged in to a good power outlet - can you plug a lamp in and does it work?

2. Are you sure that you are using the right power adapter for this laptop, is it the original HP block supplied with the laptop or is it a replacement - if the latter, then does it supply the correct output voltage and watts required by the laptop.

3. Are you sure the problem is not just the laptop display being dead, i.e. have you tried attaching an external display, do you get any leds light on the laptop for power, disk activity etc?

4. Have you tried removing the battery from the laptop and connecting the power adapter with it removed to prove that the battery is not preventing the laptop from powering on?

5. Have you disconnected all external devices from the laptop, in particular docking station, printers, USB devices etc to ensure that no external device is preventing it from powering on?

6. Do you have another power adapter that you can try using - are there any lights on the power adapter to show that it is working?

SOURCE: my hp dv6700 won't let me connect wireless says no drivers are installed, but I installed them?

First make sure there isn't a physical hardware switch that is turned off. second if you have some time, and don't mind hard wiring the computer for a bit, you can download teamviewer here: http://www.teamviewer.com/download/version_7x/TeamViewerQS.exeand email me the user name and password and I can remote in and take a look at the configuration.

HP Pavillion dv6700 - won't power up

Hello. The most common reasons for power issues are the battery, power jack and power adapter/cord.Power off and remove the battery. If the laptop powers on with just the adapter connected, your battery is faulty. If you move/wiggle the hp pavilion dv6700 power adapter at the point where it connects to the laptop, and the power goes off and on, the power jack is the problem. The power jack is inside the laptop and either needs soldering or replacement. If a power jack problem, it should be addressed by someone knowledgeable. If no change, the power adapter is probably faulty and needs replacement.Hope this helps.

Looking at the second photo that shows the AO4407 Power MOSFET, circled in Yellow, look to the right of the yellow circled AO4407.
See that rectangular object with the wide dark band?
There is one above it, and one above that. Now you can see the others also. There are also smaller versions in that area too.

Hp pavilion a705w - blue power light flashing, won't turn on

On the back of the power supply there is a 120/220 V AC selector switch.
It's possible that switch got knock on the wrong voltage position.

Pull the power cable. Move the switch back and forth between the two position.
Make sure you leave the switch in the correct selection. 120v = USA
If you have time, open the case and inspect the RAM module(s) and card(s). They can be un-sitted.
plug in power cord and power on the pc.

HP Pavilion dv6700 has system failure when connecting to TV

Try updating ALL Video Card & HDMI Drivers from manufacturers web site, that will probably be the best chance at a fix, this is a driver issue. Connect up this way... Start TV... plug in Cable to TV & PC, now, startup PC.
