SOURCE: Connecting Leviton Decora light switch.

At the switch you have a feed wire coming in this brings in power which originates in the electric panel. You also have a feed or feeds goings out to other lts or switches, this you seem to have on the switch. instead of the closet switch loop.undo all the wires. find the only hot this is the one wire you can touch to the others and make different lts come on i reccomend getting a electric tester to do this. FInd the wire that goes to the closet lt. Once your sure put it to the side. wirenut all other wires together with the hot wire. this makes all other switches independantly hot. connect the hot to the switch and the closet lt to switch. I HOPE THIS MAKES SOME SENSE TO YOU . let me know if i can help

SOURCE: Leviton Single Pole Switch with Pilot Light Model 277W Box

Depends on whether you want the pilot to glow when the circuit is live (the main light is on) or to glow when the circuit is off. (The switch can be used either way, and I have used this switch in both configurations at different places.)

The wiring diagram is on the inside of the box.

In indicates that if you want the pilot light to glow when the circuit is off, then you only need two wires (the live and the return, usually colored black and white, respectively). However, you also need a ground. The instructions say that you need the ground for safety (and probably legal code) reasons, but I suspect that, without the ground, the pilot light won't work in this configuration.

However, if you want the pilot light to glow when the circuit is on, you probably need a three wire configuration (plus the ground).

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Installing a Leviton 5225 switch with outlet.

A switch is wired using the hot wires only, the black wire. It is simply a break in the line so that when the switch is off no power flows and when the switch is on the power does flow.

You are correct that the middle outlet would have two black wires and two white wires.

If you want to tap into that middle outlet and run power up the wall I suggest you look into some wiremold products. Go to their website, or any home depot and check it out. Get back if you think I can help you further. I am an electrician.

Here is a link that may help you.

SOURCE: How does the illuminated light work inside a

The neon lamp inside of the switch draws very little current (milli, or mico amps) so there is no significant current flowing to ground.

As for your real question, there are several various types of 3-way pilot switches:
Load on: Pilot on
Load off: Pilot on
Some 3-way pilot switches have an external lead which allows them to be configured either way.
If both of your switches are the same type and are wired correctly, they should work the same.
If you suspect that one is defective, try swapping them.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much. It turns out one of the two was simply dective. Thanks!"

Hi Leonard,

I'm a licensed electrician and will be happy to help you get this working again. I suspect an incorrectly wired or incompatible switch or a load that is not designed for dimming. To know which one(s) is the problem and to be able to provide a solution, I need a little more information.

1) What was the old switch brand and model number?
2) What is the new Leviton switch's model number?
3) What type of light bulbs are you trying to operate in the 3 fixtures?
4) What is the number of and wattage of each lamp in the fixtures?
5) How many switches operate the lights?
5a) If more than one switch is used, what is the brand and model number of the other switch(es)?

Thanks

Locator Light not working on leviton 6633-pl

6633-pl is single-pole and 3-way dimmer made for max 600 watt incandescent or halogen load. This dimmer does not work for CFL or inductive loads such as motor.

I have no idea what a 'locator light' is?? Do you mean the LED indicator that shows when power is connected?

Troubleshoot section of manual does not show any solution for LED malfunction.

I am replacing a Lightolier 3-way Dimmer switch with a Leviton IPI06-1LX Dimmer switch. When I install the dimmer switch it works fine. But the on/off regular wall switch won't turn the light on or...

It depends. Some dimmers are considered "smart dimmers," where the control on the other end of the 3-way has to be intelligent enough to send a signal back to the dimmer. If the Lightolier dimmer was a smart dimmer, then chances are that the 3-way control was designed to talk only to that specific dimmer. The Leviton product you replaced it with is a simple, basic dimmer - it should work in conjunction with a simple, basic 3-way switch.

If the 3-way control already IS a simple, basic 3-way switch - then I would simply re-check the wiring of the dimmer you replaced.

We have a ceiling fan Apollo 52' Model 355-6788 but we don't have any instructions on how to put it up. Please send us instructions on how to do this.

On the remote part that goes inside the fan, it has five wire on it. One Red wire marked L goes to black switch wire from switch or Hot wire. Other Red wire goes to Net. wire from switch.or feed. Then you have A black, a blue & a white. They connect to wires from the fan. When finished connect turn light switch on, leave on & used remote control. Top left button controls the fan on/off. bottom left button controls light on/off.dimmer. There you go, all the know how to connect remote & fan/light up. Good Lucky.
P.S. You will need to buy a 9v battery for the remote, it doesn't come with it

Wiring is not best suspect.
If all the Leviton devices were installed same time, they may be failing at same time due to lifespan.
For example, ordinary on-off switch is a mechanical device with mechanical parts, and mechanical switches last many years longer than wiring devices that have electronic parts.
Electronic devices usually have standard 1 year limited warranty.

Need more information.
Project is not clearly defined.
Add a comment with clear description of each wire and what Load is being controlled.
Why are you using a 4-way switch? Are you controlling 240Volt circuit?

Photoelectric switch usually has red, black, white wires, and usually replaces a single pole switch but can also be used to control 240Volt circuit in some wiring diagrams.
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Wire-photo-eye-125.jpg

4-way switch has 4 screw terminals and is generally not used to replace a single-pole photoelectric eye, but can be used to control 240Volt circuit in some wiring diagrams, so I'm not sure what you are doing.

I am trying to replace a two wire light switch(both white) with a leviton photoelectric 3 wire motion activated light control(red, black and green). I am trying to determine which wire goes to which?

one of the white wires has power on it constantly....that wire connects to the black wire of the leviton.......the other white wire which has no power to it is going to whatever needs power so that wire connects to the red wire of the leviton....the green wire connects to the metal box where your mounting the leviton.

I need to program a VRi06-1LX rf switch with a harmony remote

The VRi06-LX switch is in the Harmony database.  Log on to your account, select the Device tab and click on the Add Device button.  Select Home Automation/Light Controller from the drop down menu.  Then select Leviton and type in VRi06-LX for the model.  The next screen will show two models, select the VRi06-LX.  Go through the rest of the process to save the data and revise your programs if necessary.  The changes will not take effect until you update your remote.
