Sony vgn-z520

Usually, it is not possible to upgrade the cpu on a laptop. In rare cases where it is possible the upgrade usually costs nearly as much as a new laptop.
However, you can significantly upgrade the laptop's performance by adding more memory and by replacing the old slow hard drive.
Your Sony VGN-Z250 is usually supplied with 3GB of RAM memory. You can replace the existing memory modules with a new kit consisting of 2 x 2GB modules (total 4GB). The type of memory you need is "SO-DIMM" (meaning laptop size) DDR3 - 1066MHz (you may use 1333MHz memory but it will only run at 1066MHz speed). I would suggest either G-Skill or Crucial brand memory. And you can replace the hard drive with an SSD. You'll be amazed at the boost this provides, seriously. I would suggest either Samsung 840 EVO or Sandisk Ultra for an SSD. Both offer super-fast performance compared to your old spinning hard drive, and both have very low power consumption so they run cool and give your laptop a few extra minutes of battery power. You can clone/copy your existing Windows setup onto the SSD using free Macrium Reflect software or free software from the SSD maker's website. Or, you can do a fresh install of Windows.

Samsung n150 plus is expandable to how many memory?

The Samsung N150 Laptop comes installed with 1GB of Memory and can be upgraded to a maximum of 2GB Memory. This computer has 1 (one) SO-DIMM memory slot, so to upgrade to 2GB of RAM, you will need to replace the installed RAM module with a single 2GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667 200pin SDRAM SO-DIMM memory module.

I have intel d845gvs1 motherboard with P4 2.4 ghz, Currently have 2 ram (512mb & 256 mb) how much further can i upgrade the ram, 1GB or 2GB also is the current combination of ram is right?

"Supports up to 2 GB of system memory with DIMMs utilizing 512 Mbit
technology DRAM devices"-intel

you can use 2 sticks of 1 gig apiece to get to 2 gigs of total memory, but you have to make sure that the ram sticks use "512Mbit " technology.

the 512Mbit technology refers to the arrangement of memory chips on the ram cards. a card which uses 64Mx8 (8 seperate memory chips of 64M apiece) would be appropriate.

"Nearly all motherboards only recognize 1 GB modules if they are low density 64M×8 modules. If high density 128M×4 1 GB modules are used, they most likely will not work."-wikipedia"

I have Acer laptop Aspire 5570z module Zr1 with memory 1GB I want to increase memory 2GB or 3GB Is it possible or not What will be the expenditure?

Your laptop's RAM is upgradeable to up to 4 GB using two DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM modules.

So your upgrade options here are:
1. Buy a 1 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 2 GB (Price around US$ 25).
2. Buy a 2 GB DDR2 533/667 MHz SODIMM module & install it to get a total RAM of 3 GB (Price around US$ 45).

Compaq Presario Notebook V3000T I replaced the 2-256mb memory cards with 2-1g memory cards. System boots up but only reads 1024mb?

Thanks to Microsoft Knowledge Base for help with my answer:

First, find out what the maximum amount of memory is. This is generally listed by most of the manufacturers. This will let you know what upgrade potential the system has. Next, determine how the memory configuration is when you buy the system. For example, a laptop that has 2GB of memory can be configured as either a single 2GB module or two 1GB modules. The single memory module allows for better upgrade potential because by adding another module you are gaining more memory without sacrificing any current memory. Upgrading the two module situation with a 2GB upgrade would result in the loss of one 1GB module and a memory total of 3GB.
