I have attempted to remove the battery from this product but the release catch wont budge is there a safety catch im not aware of or just not observing please help.

Did you ever get a reply for this? I have an old one I was just looking over and it has the same problem with the battery.

what problem. battery latch broken.?
name it? its pure physical this.
the old battery can swell up, and stick
we release the lever and use real small screw drivers to pry it out.
there is no other way,... that is not dangerous.
some LT have broken latch, its just cheap
plastic spring latch, cave man simple in fact.
