It's a little backward from what I was thinking. The "Stops" haveto be UP for the timer to be OFF. When you want the timer toturn an object ON you push the "Stops" DOWN.Thanks to geno_3245 for posting the initial information.
1 side of the coils is probably broken and you are getting half the heat. This is making the dryer take longer to dry them clothes.
Air restrictions in the dryer and vent can cause the heater control to shut down quickly also. If you have a bad breaker the power will sometimes work and sometimes not.
If all of these are good you might have a problem with the timer.
Most of the GE timers have leaf switches in the that get a burr on the contacts. The come apart simple enough.
hi thanks for the question in the ge dryer theres 2 elements so if one is not working you only get half heat i would check the heater thanks the appliance doc
