To find out the steps to upgrade the CPU, you need to get the Hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) from Lenovo, or online.
Do a search for 'ThinkPad T30 hmm' in google or equivalent. The document is 92P1840.pdf

How can increes speed of computer.

you are using Thinkpad T30 2366 and if it has a low RAM (memory) you can upgrade that. I check your computer specs online and what I saw is this P4-M 1.8 GHz but unable to verify if it has 256mb RAM. If it does you can upgrade that to 512mb.

Want to upgrade

If you like the T23 then you can upgrade the size of you hard drive, your ram, your Rom drive. I went with the T30 and I like it quite well. I like the mouse better. The Thinkpads are nice to work on.

Upgrading cpu in IBM T30 laptop

1. You must have a processor compatible with motherboard, an Intel Pentium 4M 2.2GHz P/N 91P7209.
2. Download and read pages 81 to 86 and above from the Hardware Maintenance Manual:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-42308
3. Pay close attention to reinstall the fan assembly and apply thermal compound if necessary.
4. Re-assemble all the parts again by following the steps in reverse order of the manual.

NOTE: For future reference, your laptop will change to a 2366-FBx, M6x or 2367-FBx model depending on case.
