I am wanting to play dvds with a computer monitor. I have a dvd player that is ready and working... I am just needing to know how to connect the 2? i have heard that it is possible, apparently you need and adapter or something? If you could give me the name of the adapter and some details, would be great! Thanks!

Your dvd player has left audio output . this should be white. aso it has a right audio output this should be red ,both of these are called rca females . note you have to have a cabel with two rca mails and a 1/8 inch stereo mail on the other end. this 1/8 inch plug will go in to your computer input . the other two rca will plug in two your your dvd player and thats that. this will work for you i am a electronics technition . good luck and enjoy your movies

Changing dvd region codes

You can't change the DVD coding. That part is how the DVD is recorded. However, your Mac will play DVDs from another region. It just typically defaults to one region. I have deleted the DVD player software (and preferences files) before and reloaded it to play DVDs from another region. If you plan to regularly play DVDs from multiple regions, you might want to look for special DVD software that will read DVDs from multiple regions.

I can't play a dvd on my computer?

if you burn this dvd by yourself then there must be problem with the X speed of your DVD ROM drive. Most of DVD rom drives does not play dvds scratched and old dvds.Lens of your dvd rom may be faulty. If DVD is new and its condition is better then there must be problem in your PC.Proper dvd player is not installed in your pc.I would recommend KM player or K-lite media codec pack. You can easily get them on google or at www.download.cnet.com/

Hi! Just want to ask how can I connect my viewsonic monitor from computer to dvd player?

Get an adaptor, you don't say what model of monitor you have so I can't be more specific, You will probably also need speakers from the DVD player to get sound and an amplifier and the correct leads. But why bother? if you want to watch DVDs on your monitor then play them on your computer.

Is windows media player able to play dvds? how daes it work? my laptop media can not play dvds.. i m feeling tired of it..

You may need codecs in order to play most DVD videos and other formats like DivX. Use this codec pack here. Select the Media Player Classic as the application while you were asked to provide it. K-Lite After that both of your players are ready to play DVDs (its better to have Media Player 11 in your system for a better experience) Enjoy your movie!

I can not play dvds, cds ok

Assuming that you mean that you cannot play dvd movies, you need software to play dvds.

You can download a free dvd player but you have to be careful about free software, sometimes they contain hacker tools

Transfering Videos to my computer?

Sounds like you have conflicting file associations, which means that some types of files open in one player and others in another. However, this isn't your main problem.

To play the DVD file on the pc you need to have the .ifo, .vob and the .bup files in the same directory as well as the video_ts files etc. Easiest way to do it is to copy ALL of the files from each disk to a folder on the pc, then you can play them from there and format your disks ready to be re-used.

If you'd like further help with converting the format and sorting out your file associations please post again but the above information should cure your immediate problem.
