Hooking up speakers is easy you if your terminals are red and black you just match them up black on speaker means hook to black on the receiver doing a wrong hookup can reverse the phase of the speaker cause a distortion and eventual damage to speaker and coil.if you are rtunning just a stereo that allows two speakers select speaker you want for left side and put that on left of the stereo and hook it up as left and same for the right and if you have a home theater you hook it all up the same but you hook up the center put it in center front of the room as far back to wall as you can but dnt cover it up it should be lower than the front left and right or the main left and right speakers.then if the5re is surround you put those like say you have a square room you put them in the corners on the back wall.if you have rear speakers you put them on the back wall.make sure all speakers excepty rthe center are level and equal distance apart

SOURCE: Can I hook up a

First of all, here is the main ONLINE SUPPORT page for your model:

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/rx-v493_black__u/?mode=model

And here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/av/english/re/RX-V393.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

You should just be able to use the TAPE REC AUDIO OUT (L/R) jacks on the back of the Yamaha 493 unit as your secondary amp's input signal. You might even be able to use the VCR AUDIO OUT (L/R) jacks as well. See page 8 of the manual for a detailed diagram of the rear connections on your set.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Joe.

SOURCE: I don't know how to

Some make/model information might help us/you find the manuals.

Generally, Line Level OUTs to Line Level INs; and PHONO only goes to PHONO unless there is a PHONO preamp somewhere in-line with it (sometimes built-in to newer turntables).

Start surfing for the manuals if you don't have them.

You might find it them the manufacturer's support site, by using a common search engine or these guys...

retrevo.com
audio.manualsonline.com
hifiengine.com
usermanualguide.com
vinylengine.com

Search Engine of your choice: "(product) manual"

Hi!

When connecting some speakers to an amplifier the first important thing is the impedance. This is in your receiver 4 ohm for each speaker (the impedance is written on the back pannel of your receiver). Using a lower impedance for the speaker can and will harm the receiver.
The second important thing is to use speakers with a rated power no LESS then the receivers rated output power. In your case it means no LESS than 100 W. Using speakers with a higher rated power does not any harm to the receiver, it means only that the speakers are able to handle the power delivered by the receiver or even more without any danger to get the magnetic coils inside the speakers burned.

Regards,

Bogdan

How can i replace 1991 maxima radio system?

The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.

Hooked up a cd player to my 2005moms grand am but volume don't work? Why?

Check to make sure it is not manually muted, if that doesn't work make sure your speaker wires are connected properly in the back of the radio and speakers work also. If it is run through an amplifier, make sure the amp works and the speaker wires are connected properly too! Don't forget to check gain on the amp too!

Will I able to run two or four kicker competition fifteen inch subs to this amp?

  • You could effectively hook up two 15" Kickers. Make sure they are power hungry because that amp has some weight behind it. I don't recommend 4 speakers though. Get a second amp if you want to run 4 15" speakers.

  • Thanks for using FixYa

Hook up lower level input to the audio source 230 subwoofer but can't get any sound for the speaker that is hook up through the speaker level input or output.

The speaker level connectors on the sub are for use when you DON'T have an AV receiver-style subwoofer output. They only pass-through from YOUR amp to other speakers. You should NOT use both Line level and Speaker Level input to the sub.

What is your electronics? Have you looked at the manuals?

I HAVE A OVER HEATING PROBLEM

Assuming you're talking about your amp is overheating, it usually means that you don't have enough room for your ventilation. You can keep it where it is, and wire a couple of computer fans from Radio Shack. You should wire them up so that they turn on with a switch. Another problem is the amp is basically out in the open, speakers could be wired incorrectly. If your amp is stable down to 4 Ohms, and you have them wired down to 2 Ohms your amp can run hot. The way to check this is to hook up a multimeter and see what Ohm load your amp is "seeing." If you don't have access to one, then just simply go to a local audio store and ask them to check that for you.

I have my amp and and subs hooked up right but i have multiple component wires on the back of my vm 9412. i need to know what to hook my component wires to in the back of my head unit and also need to know...

If you are running your speakers/subs from an external amp, then you wouldn't use any of the wires in the back. Usually you don't have any type of menu to change to make anything work. Some units have the ability to turn the signal off to the amp. What color are the wires in the back that you have remaining?
