SOURCE: Dewalt 51488. Air leaks around trigger and won't fire nail.

Go to Dewaltservicenet.com and download a breakdown of the tool before starting. I would recoment changing all the O rings and make sure that you get a good grease to lube them first. Its not that hard.

SOURCE: Where can I find a

I have not seen a complete point by point instruction for Dewalt, however the kit # 610773-01 has a sheet with all the part labeled and is fairly easy if you have worked on other nailers. If you have not taken apart a nailer, then search youtube for nail gun videos to get an idea as to what you are getting into. I have rebuilt hundreds of nailers and find that the Dewalt nailers are about a 4 - 5 in complexity. I find that dewalt nailers are faulted with vinyl orings (clear to yellow in color) that fail due to oil/water and heat. Most nailers use black viton orings that lasts much longer. May I suggest posting again with the specific problem that you are having with your gun. Good holidays

My framing nail gun won't fire when trigger is squeezed air leaks out but won't fire

Time for oring kit # d518005 available at Dewalt service center or at www.toolpartsdirect.com.
May as well order the replacement trigger valve while there. These two items will renew your gun. Good luck

Air leaking through nose constantly. I believe that I have ordered all the proper o rings to repair the problem, but I need to know how to remove the cylinder.

Cylinder is held in place by the bulkhead (plastic ring with 4 upright tabs). See parts list at www.toolpartsdirect.com. To remove cylinder carefully pull /pry up bulkhead. Air leaking from nose is caused by debris/ worn orings in gun where bulkhead seals against body. Before you change any orings, remove bulkhead and examine condition of metal where orings contact body. Remove any scratches with 400 grit paper. Replace orings as needed. Dewalt used vinyl orings in your gun that fail due to oil breaking down the material. Your kit may contain vinyl orings, however black viton orings would be a great improvement (if available). Good luck.

My dewalt framing nail gun was hooked to the air compressor, but was not being used when it began leaking air which you could hear and got louder. It sounded like it was leaking around the trigger area....

There are O-ring seals around the trigger that are probably leaking. You can try to lubricate the gun by adding the pneumatic oil to the air supply. That may be enough to seal it back up. Otherwise the seals and/or the trigger assembly will need to be replaced.
