Washer wont agitate or spin

I have a Kenmore fornt loader #43052. It made a loud banging noise in final spin so we stopped it. We restarted it and it did finish one spin cycle. but a slight burning smell occurred. I opend back and belt in good shape and it will turn by hand although large chunk of plastic tun broke off. I repaired holel in plastic tub by gluing piece back (no gaps, one piece fit well) But machine will not agitate or spin. it does drain well though. Help!

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

Clothes getting twisted around agitator

That does not sound good. New dogs sound great, but you must get to the bottom of why the clothes are becoming twisted on the agitator. Usually not enough WATER. Think loose flow of clothes submerged.
Long story short, you cannot jam pack this machine. Less clothes, more water, will equal long life.
Be sure that the mating teeth for the dogs, is not damaged. Slipping here would make loud noise.
More water, less clothes.

Washing machine

This sounds like the brakes have gotten some residue on them and are grabbing way too hard. The banging is the tub stopping too fast and the torque from this makes the tub bang into the cabinet. Just one bang at the end of a spin. Is this correct???

Loud clicking noise - wont agitate or spin

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix
