Ready heater r100a blows fuel but will not ignite

If the heater will not ignite, this maybe caused by low pump pressure or perhaps a fuel blockage, or could be caused by too much air from the fan, the hot surface igniter heaters are very sensitive to this kind of problem. Will the heater start with the top cover removed?? If so try closing down the angle of the fan blades a little, but not too much, to reduce the air forced into the combustion chamber. If the heater will not start with the top cover removed, try adjusting the pump pressure, or replace the nozzle. This may not be very scientific, but the solution maybe by trial and error, and can be very frustrating! Hope this helps.

Yes there is a filter. Pull up on the fuel line, or the rubber grommet that goes into the tank with the fuel line through it. There were different types of filter used. One is inside a black plastic tube. You can pick it out of the tube with a pick. Another style is located on top of the tank and is of white plastic. Your fuel delivery problem may be air related. The air pump is on the back of the blower motor, and meters a set volume of air to **** the fuel out of the tank and blow it through the nozzle. This air pressure is stated on the data plate on your heater, probably about 3.6 psi. The air filters on the air pump could also be dirty causing the air output to be reduced, and thus low fuel flow. Also check for air leaks at the pump. Spray soapy water on the black plastic cover and look for bubbles, which are of coarse air leaks.

No fuel!! Several things can cause this, empty fuel tank, dirty fuel filter, plugged screen in the nozzle assembly,or plugged nozzle. So lets clean up the fuel system by first removing the top section of the heater and exposing the burner tray. Remove the tray and locate the fuel nozzle, remove the nozzle, now they say you can not clean them, I say with a q-tip, tooth pick and carb cleaner you can just be careful not to damage the nozzle. Behind the nozzle is a screen assembly these corrode at times so clean it up too. Below the nozzle assembly is the flame sensor, clean this with windex and a soft terry cloth rag, make sure it will have a clear unobstructed view of the flame.Put the nozzle assembly back together, and now inspect the fuel line for cracks, holes,and dry rot replace if necessary. Trace the lines down to the side where they come thru the case. Remove the side cover and locate the fuel line and in line filter, remove the filter. Cleaning this is easy you need a compressor and blow gun, all you do is blow air backwards thru the filter and instantly its clean. Inspect fuel lines and reassemble. Now make sure that you have clean fuel in your tank, and there is no water in it as well.Plug it in and you should now be heating like new. If not it could be your fuel pump!

This morning I had an identical problem with a new heater, the culprit ended up being the fuel tank had water down inside it. Condensation causes this when you store them. I ended up draining it in to a five gallon bucket and then watched the water separate and go to the bottom of the bucket. Needless to say cleaning out the tank was real fun, after draining it I stuffed rags down in the tank to **** up the water, siphoned off the fuel from the water with an electric pump and filled the heater up now it is working fine. Remove the top cover and check the burning tray over real good, I would clean the flame sensor with windex and soft terry cloth rag. Then pull some preventative maintenance, locate the nozzle, remove it, nwo they say that you can not clean these but I say with a q-tip, carb cleaner,and a tooth pick you can with out damaging the nozzle. Directly behind the nozzle is a screen clean this as well, now put it back together. Inspect all fuel lines for holes, dry rot and cracks, if all is good move on to the side cover where the fuel line goes thru to the fuel tank. Remove it and locate the fuel line and filter, remove the filter and clean with compressed air and a blow gun, blowing air backwards thru the filter, instantly clean. Now put it back together and inspect lines again. On the back of the fuel pump is a foam filter for air intake remove it and clean with dish soap and water, be sure to dry really good then put it back and button your heater back up. Now you are ready for testing and happy heating.

I have same heater and problem-1) Check fuel inlet screens at bottom of hose in tank 2) Check air filters at fan module opposite end of the fan blade 3)Check for spark in ignition chamber 4) Check for fuel flow in ignition chamber (look at pressure gauge at opposite end from air exit) You'll have to remove the top cover to do these checks. The side covers will hang on each side ok. I hope these checks help you out.Good luck.

They have techs that can help troubleshoot your problem.

Hi check for blockage in the flue check out the pressure switch, check heat exchanger

Set the pump pressure first, then trooubleshoot to see why there is no ignition. Chances once the pressure is set, the heater will run.

hi this could be 3 problems ? no spark so vapour not igniting so excess vapour coming out as smoke, if it ignites stays on for a while goes out the flame probe is faulty, fuel filter is blocked needs new one , the fuel pipe going into tank has a non return vavle in it ( its a plastic ball in line with pipe ) if this is missing or stuck it allows fuel to drain back into tank and causes a air lock in heater causing vapour into chamber result in smoke coming out of end, as a quick fix for that you can fill pipe with fuel bend it so its traps in fuel like fire place pipe in tank when stopping fire stick mole gripps on pipe so next time fuel is there ready

Both problems soud like fuel delivery problems. Start troubleshooting fuel delivery problems by checking and getting the air pump pressure to specs.
