SOURCE: theres a line threw my tv.

It has a problem in the vertical sweep circuit that puts a nonlinearity in its output and you see the glitch in the normally gradual sweep as a line. Since a hit upside the set seems to help, you should just resolder the whole vertical circuit area (doesn't take long) and see if that cures it. If not, start replacing the electrolytic capacitors in that area.
Hope Ya Fix It!

SOURCE: line across top of screen

If the picture is ok otherwise then only thing that probably needs to be done is a vertical height adjustment. That is if the lines never changes position from cold to hot.

Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms you describe.

SOURCE: Intense white & coloured horizontal line on black background on startup

I wouldn't attempt as the capacitors on a tv store around 25000 volts this is more than enough to kill you and they keep there charge even when the tv is off. Either take it to a repair shop or put that money towards buying a new tv - Do not even attempt to open the tv. (It sounds like maybe a tube has gone or the electromagnet that makes the beam move vertically is gone.

Scepter 32". Received this for Christmas 2012. It's worked beautifully up until about a month ago. When you turn it on the blue light comes on but nothing happens. You can't turn it back off without...

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.
It's not unusual for this type of electronics to only last a couple of years.

Samsung 1080 picture glitching on model # HL61A750a1fx2c Versionre01

If it's all colors (Red, Blue, Green) doing the same thing at the same time, there are (unfortunately) multiple possibilities:

1) the AC to DC power supplies
2) the LED Driver Board
3) DLP driver, or DLP itself

The most likely problem is the DC-DC power supplies, which are known to have capacitors that go bad after several years of operation.

Due to this, there are many sources for either re-capacitor kits (DIY), or rebuilt power supplies with upgraded capacitors.

WARNING - Dangerous, and even lethal voltages are present inside your TV set. Do not attempt this unless you are trained in these kinds of repairs. Leave the TV unplugged for several hours (or preferably a full day) before attempting such.

DIAGNOSIS for bad capacitors: If you inspect the large capacitors on the power supply boards, and they are not totally FLAT across the top surface (if bulged at all), then you need a new power supply or new cap's. Likewise, if there is any leakage from the capacitors (usually a light-yellowish crusty appearing substance), they are BAD.

Main power supply:
BP44-01001A SMPS-DLP TV PN082DPS-VF(A),AC/DC,90V-132

A quick Google search for these part number (BP96-01726B & BP44-01001A) will reveal many sources, and pictures to verify it's what your set has.

CAN YOU SEE ANYTHING ON THE SCREEN? DOES THE MENU FOR THE TV COME ONSCREEN? IS THERE A BLUE SCREEN AT ALL? I HAVE SEEN MANY CONVERGENCE FAILURES WITH THAT MODEL THAT CAN CAUSE THE TV TO NOT POWER ON. IF YOU TAKE THE BACK OFF YOU WILL SEE A BOARD WITH 2 LARGE BLACK CHIPS LABELED STK392-040 IF YOU UNPLUG THE RED CONNECTOR AND THE TV TURNS ON THEN YOU HAVE A CONVERGENCE FAILURE AND THE 2 LARGE BLACK CHIPS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED.

Black screen

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.

I would keep hounding them for the warranty issue. Why do you have to spend a dime if the TV is still under warranty? I would just keep at it.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.
