clean cartridge if you are not active print docoments then change printer head

USB is pretty bullet proof. Printer USB cable ... only one end will go into the printer, the other end can go into any available USB port.

Normally, the cable does not come with a new printer. Get one at the big box store or at a computer store or look at Kmart

know what operating system you are using is it Windows Vista or XP? look for the driver that is matched to your Operating System(OS)...

if you are confused let me know your OS asap and I'll will give the correct driver for you to download...

Sounds as though the printer is defective.
Call or email Epson Tech Support.

If you forget your PIN code, you can regain access to the CX6400 by running the security lock program from your computer:
1. Insert your Stylus CX6400 software CD-ROM.
2. Windows: If you see the Software Installation screen, click Exit.
Open the SecurityLock Tool folder on your CD-ROM, then double-click the program file located in that folder.

Macintosh: The EPSON folder automatically opens (if it doesn’t, double- click the EPSON CD-ROM icon). Then double-click the Security Lock icon.

Did you get your software?

Blank pages are indicative ofdried ink.

If the printer has not been used for a long time ink may have settled and dried in the heads.

You may need to replace the cartridges (IF they are very old) and run several head cleanings if there is no improvement.

I typicall try to print a few test pages to see if some of the color work.
