Logitech Z5500 5.1 speaker system Hi, Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem? there is no sound coming from the subwoofer or the speakers, but when I connect my mp3 player to the pod...

Try pulling the power from the unit for a few minutes, the reconnect. Make sure you've got the surround settings correct. If that doesn't do it, you've likely popped the amp or the amp's power supply in the sub box.

Logitech Z-5300 subwoofer from computer to i-pod problem...

The best thing to do is to contact the manufacturers. From this i understood that your speaker system is new. You surely have the manufacturer's guarantee. So its better to contact them than to get it repaired or replaced for free. Sir please do not try to open the sub as it will void the guarantee policy.

Hope your subs come into play as soon as possible.......
All the best...

Control box for the z-5500 turns on for a few seconds with the screen full of black bars and shuts itself off

try a reset-- turn off the control pod and in stand by mode hold the source and the input bottons at the same time. firmware version should appear on the screen. the try using again. If that does not work call logitech for out of warranty discount on a new system.

Someone stole my sound touch control pod for my z-5500 surround sound speakers, where can I get a areplacement?

Logitech does not sell these seperately.. not in my country anyhow. You should also be aware, that there is several (at least two) revisions of these controllers, so you cant just just use any controller.. Check eBay.. and try to get one that has the same sticker on the back of the stand as yours. EG, mine is R750. Good luck!

One controller pod...being split for two speaker sets?

Technically it's not a KVM connector.

A KVM switch uses a DB15 serial connector.  Just like a monitor uses a DB15 for it's VGA connection.

The pinout for the control center's DB15 connectori is not likely to be the same as either one of those two types of devices.

Unfortunately, there is no way to make one pod work with two sets of speakers. The reason for this is that the voltage supplied to the control center comes from the sub-woofer.  You can imagine having two sources of power connected to one, single control center...

The control center would not know which sub-woofer and power system to regulate.  You would end up with issues revolving around power distribution, volume levels being variable - or worse.  More than likely, you would either overload the control center or it would simply not be able to keep up with the demand for both systems simultaneously.

I myself just had my set of Z-5500's RMA'd to Logitech under the exact same circumstances.  I just received my new set today.  Retail box and everything.

He was NOT kidding you.  I had to make him repeat himself just like you did.  LOL.

But I sent the control center, remote and purchase receipt with them.

5 days later, I found out DHL almost had my package here.  (Although I was lucky.  The turn-around time on the RMA is subject to supply and demand.  I was quoted 6-8 weeks at one point due to their lot being completely empty.  They are manufactured and shipped from China according to the rep I spoke with...)

My advice to you is to get right on the RMA process.  Get your incident number from the Logitech rep who sets up your RMA.  Get those two pieces sent in as soon as you can.  Do what I did.

To do this, call the following number.

General Technical Assistance/RMA: 646-454-3200

Package the remote, control center into a box snuggly.  WRITE YOUR INCIDENT NUMBER given to you by the Logitech rep on the receipt.  Include the receipt in the box.  Take it to the post office and send it by USPS Priority mail.  Get "Delivery Confirmation" on it.  All told it came to just under $10 for me.

Send it to the following address:

Logitech Incorporated
6505 Kaiser Drive
Fremont, CA 94555
ATTN: Incident Number# <put your incident number here>

You will also be instructed to send a copy of your receipt by way of fax.  WRITE YOUR INCIDENT NUMBER AND PERSONAL INFORMATION ON IT BEFORE FAXING.  (Or at least on a cover letter.)  They're supposed to send you an email to let you know that they received the fax...but I never received one.  Good thing I included a second copy with the control center and remote...because that's the one they used for processing.

FAX: 702-269-3439

I have pics of the shipping order that came on the box, too.  If you would like to see this proof, let me know.  I'll be more than happy to post plenty of pics that show my old set (sans the control center of course...) and the new set.

But don't delay like I did.  Mine was two days away from expiration of the warranty before I sent in the parts.  LOL.

Any more questions?  Let me know.  :)
