read the book that came with it you got to understand how it works and know how to set your unit before you can understand how it works and what you need to do to make it work and to get to what settings you want ..a fish finder is like a computer you got to program it to your likings .. I have a hd 10 structure scan on mine .. .now that's a nightmare to set but the book tells you everything you need to do and how to do it and how to get what your looking for and how to get to it
I am guessing that the card you are using is a NAVIONICS chart? There have been some Lowrance units that were made around the same time that have had problems recognizing a Navionics chart right from power up.
Make sure the LMS-332 has the latest firmware version which can be downloaded from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Products/Marine/Full-Size-SonarGPS-Chartplotter-Combos/LMS-332C/Downloads/LMS-332C-Software-Update/
If the update doesn't help, this is going to be a compatibility problem with the LMS-332 and that particular card. You will need to replace the card or upgrade to a newer unit...but probably can just get used to removing and replacing the card when you turn the unit on.
The LGC-2000 is bad would be the most likely cause, but if this started right after you changed the cables, Try connecting the NMEA 2000 network to a different power source than the main power. If you still have the original cables, and you didn't have the problem before, try using those again to make sure there isn't anything wrong with any of the new cables.
But most likely, the LGC-2000 is toast and you will want to contact Lowrance support to see about getting it repaired/replaced.
have a lowrance lms-330c the depth no. keep changing from hi no. to low no. can not stop it,,, will not show true depth,,, can you help?,,,where can i send it to get it fix?
1. Turn the LMS-330 off 2. Press and hold the ZIN, ZOUT, and PWR buttons 3. Release the three buttons once you see the "warning, do not rely..." message appear
If you get that far, the problem is solved. If you get boot failed again, try installing the latest update which can be downloaded from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/
If you still get boot failed, you will need to get the LMS-330 repaired/replaced. You can contact Lowrance support at 800-324-1356 or email them by going to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Contact/
I think I can help with your issue. I have an LMS 334c and have had a few issues in the past. Called the factory (this answer is not listed any where in your manual) and they instructed me to "Soft Re Boot" my unit and it would put everything back to factory settings. Try this anytime it does not respond for whatever reason.
Turn the unit off.
At the same time press the Pages and Power button. Hold both down until you see the square box come up in the screen. You should have your factory settings again. May need to try a few times.
Lowrance said it works just like a computer, ever now and then it just tries to disect to much information at one time and hangs up.
Good luck. James Cantwell
I have a manual for this unit but i'm still using mine so not willing to sell it to you. I'm in Melbourne and you're welcome to borrow it for a week or so or i could probably photocopy/scan certain sections for you and email them if it helps. Let me know if you still need it by emailing me at [email protected]
