Clean any debris from lens with soft cloth.
Try and download a free "camera" app from app store.
If app doesnt display camera correctly, restore your iPhone, if still not working your hardware may be damaged.

SOURCE: my iphone 2g takes pics which appear like negatives

I experienced the same problem. I clicked on Settings, then clicked on General and clicked on Accessibility...then make sure that Off is selected for White on Black. Once I changed that setting...I could view my pictures in color and not in negative. Try it. What a relief ...cuz I thought something was wrong with my phone's camera.

My iphone screen is black, no response from touchscreen or home or lock button. When you call the number there is no voulme but to the caller the phone is ringing. Any suggestions what the problem m

first thing I'd have you do is plug it in and see if you get a charging display on the screen. If you still don't see anything at all hold the home button and sleep/wake button for about 20 seconds. Many times this is all it takes. If it is just a software issue you should see the screen go white with a black apple. There was an issue with the 4 in the past (mine had this as well) where at 50% charge it locked completely. This did the trick. Let me know if this doesn't work and I'll give you some more possible steps. Where did you get the phone and what carrier?

The only thing you can do with this issue is :

Hold the sleep /wake button and the home button at the same time for 2 full minutes

if you see a white apple appear- your good - just charge for 4 hours you should be fine

if the iphone still dose not turn on then - it need service

IPhone will not turn on i have tried charging via USB on a MacBook but no luck and have tried charging via AC adapter still no luck

Hi,
Here are the steps to reset the iPhone. You probably performed the first reset, try the other resets.:

If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

Take care

Iphone screen frozen, also phone not showing up in itunes...

iPhone may exhibit a problem where it does not respond to any button, switch, or touchscreen input.
To turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone.
To turn iPhone on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If the iPhone remains unresponsive after trying the above steps or if it is in a different state, such as showing a persistent Apple logo on the display, try resetting the device:

Before following the steps you need to take a backup of your iphone

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.

When you connect your iPhone to your computer, an iPhone icon should appear in iTunes in the left column under Devices. But if it doesn't, this troubleshooting assistant can help.

1. Make sure your computer has the following:

and one of the following operating systems:
  • Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later
  • Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
  • Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate Edition
If your computer does not meet these requirements, you will need to upgrade your computer before using iPhone.

2. If iPhone is very low on power or if the battery is fully depleted, it can take up to 10 minutes to appear in iTunes.

3. Connect iPhone to a USB port that is built into the computer instead of the keyboard or an external USB hub.
If iPhone still doesn't appear in iTunes, try a different USB port.

4. Restart the iphone:
To restart iPhone, first turn iPhone off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider and iPhone will turn off after a few moments.
Next, turn iPhone on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

If iPhone not responding? To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

5. If you face the same issue reinstall the latest version of itunes

If this does not resolve the issue, try completely uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling the latest version of iTunes.

Even after following the steps if you face the same issue, then it must be some third-party software (such as security software, anti-virus software, and webcam drivers) may prevent iTunes from recognizing your iPhone. You may have to update your software, adjust software settings, or temporarily disable the software.
In Windows, MSCONFIG is used to troubleshoot conflicting software. For assistance using MSCONFIG, select from the following:
