SOURCE: Not getting a drive letter from Compaq SCSI RAID setup

Did you see any new drives in the disk managemen screen? To get to the disk management, hold window key down and hit 'R', then type diskmgmt.msc and hit enter.

If you do see the drive in the lower half of the screen, you need to initialize the drive either as dynamic disk or basic disk. Then you need to add a new partition and format it.

Good luck.

No I do not think there is unfortunaely. Contact Maxtor and ask if they are going to support it under Windows 7?

Testimonial: "Thanks mate. Have sent an email to Seagate (apparently they bought out Maxtor) so am now waiting for a response. Thanks for you quick reply. Cheers"

SOURCE: during upgrade of windows 32

The drivers for vista and windows 7 are probably the same. As long as you performed an upgrade and all your original programs and data are still there. there is no point in updating drivers unless you are expieriencing problems.

Please check the details of your devices, and post the info here, so I and other helper can help you to look for the proper drivers:
[Start] Control Panel, System, Device Manager, [Component Name], [Component with Exclamation], [Right click], Properties, Details tab, Property pull down; chose Hardware IDs and write down the VEN and the DEV sections in the Value's box (including the VEN and the DEV words)

Bluetooth driver on aspire 4710 with win 7

turn your pc on and right click on my computer and go to manage in the left hand pane click device manager.

now click on the Bluetooth device if you cant see it and it just says unknown then its that one/
once you have it right click and go to properties and then driver
in the drop down menu below change it to hardware ID's

you will be presented with some gobbledygook that looks like
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0141&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_A2
what you want from this is the ven and dev numbers

so ven: 10DE and dev:0141

take these to the website pcidatabase and search ven then dev this will give you the specific device.

once you have it copy the name into your search engine followed by driver and your OS

Local area connection driver download

unfortunately there isn't a website that just hosts drivers for all technology but there is something that can help.

first right click on my computer and go manage, once their go to device manager and then to the device that is missing the driver so this will be your LAN connection.

right click this and go to properties then to the tab details
in the window below there is a drop down menu change this to hardware ID.

and it should look something like this
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8169&SUBSYS_0C24105B&REV_10

what we are after is the numbers after VEN and DEV so:
VEN 10EC
DEV 8169

the VEN number is for Vendor I.e. who makes it the next is what device it is.

armed with both of these go to pcidatabase and search the VEN and then DEV till you find the numbers that match once you have this copy what it says the device is, paste this into google and then add driver and what ever OS it is so example

Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family PCI Gigabit Ethernet NIC windows 7 driver

of course if you use a 64bit OS check that it is a 64bit driver

PCI Simple Communications Controller

Hi, I have a solution. If you go in device manager, click on the pci simple communications controller, go in property and then go in details. You will see a code like per example PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_27D8&SUBSYS...

The VEN code means vendor and the DEV code means device: in my case the vendor is 8086 and the device is 27D8.

Once you have the two codes, go to www.pcidatabase.com. Enter the two codes and you should get the name of your
hardware. From there you can search for a driver download for your hardware.

In my case the pci simple communications controller was a Microsoft UAA Bus HD audio. I also had another pci
device that didn't work properly, using the same method I found out that my pci device was an HSF PCI internal modem with code number CX11252-11. I had a hard time downloading one of the drivers, after 6 or 7 times the download started so be patient if you have the same hardware
.
NOTE: to access the device manager, go in control panel, then performance and maintenance, system, hardware and finally device manager.

Hopefully this helps you, good luck.
