I can't delete files using the PC

When I hook up my MP3 to the Computer, Most of the files are missing, and I can't seem to delete any of them. There's also random ' Local Disk ' shortcuts on the Folders and the Folders (i.e. Music, Video, Pictures, Albums) are doubled. When I turn on my MP3, however, they're not missing. And when I try to delete files using the MP3, after about 1 - 3 deletes, the device lags

Seems like you got a virus in your mp3 player. Try scanning the device with an antivirus first. You can use the program unlocker to delete the files which are adamant to go away.

SOURCE: I can'y delete the folders on my Samsung YP-T9J

On my YP-T9 I choose format and it deletes everything. Of course, I don't use it for pictures, videos, etc. You can format it either with WMP, Samsung Media Studio, or Windows Explorer. Only takes a couple minutes -- in fact, it's a lot faster than deleting the songs via WMP Sync.

No space to build database, please connect to pc and create 100mb of space

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time of day you are viewing this solution post. Thank you for choosing FixYa to assist you with your problem. From the description you have given above, you have no space to build a database of media player files and you want to know how to free up space by connecting to a PC? I think I can provide assistance to you for that. Your device is telling you what you need to do, which is free up space on your MP3 player by removing media files on your 8GB hard drive. 100 megabytes of files need to be removed in order to do this. By going into songbird and removing the files, the computer will remove the file from the MP3 player, but by default, will not delete the file itself; as the file will be on Philips Songbird on your PC's hard drive. To remove media files on your GoGear Ariza:

1. Use the USB cable that was supplied with your MP3 player to connect your device to your PC.

2. Open Philips Songbird on your PC.

3. Select a media file from your music, video or downloads library that you want to remove and right click it.

4. Click 'Remove' and confirm the command.

Repeat steps 3 & 4 as many times as you need to until you have deleted 100MB of media files. If songbird displays the file size, use that to help you decide which ones are taking up the most space, or as you are getting ready to remove a file, use the file sizes and add them together (mathematically). If you don't know, mb stands for megabyte, and a megabyte is 1,000,000 bytes. Once the total is 100,000,000 or more, you can stop removing files if you want. I hope this helps!
