Can you turn on the laptop at all, does it go through the initial hardware tests, can you see the HP logo? Can you go into BIOS?

You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP or Vista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click on this link to download the drivers: -

i recomend you to format your partition and instal a new fresh copy of windows using an original windows xp disc (remember make a backup of your documents in that partition)

sounds like it may be hard drive problem....install a new hard drive and put windows xp on...

Sounds like the LCD screen is gone. Need to get a replacement

try getting into advanced volume settings by double clicking on the speaker icon. some of the volumes may be turned lower

go to above website chose your opearting system and download the drivers

If you are installing a fresh copy, you should boot from cd, and not start it from windows. It is less error prone.
