I don't know how to use my Vivitar TEC 35

You don't need to install the camera.


The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.


Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

You don't. That sounds like an ink issue in the screen. That usually happens when it is dropped/damaged/sat on/crushed. Contact vivitar and tell them it came like that (even if it didn't). Otherwise, they won't replace it. My old digicam did that and I had to either pay to get it repaired or buy a new one. With these being so cheap, its not worth paying for repairs. The "X" in X014 indicates a ten megapixel camera.

It's 55 pages so I don't know if that qualifies as "mini" in your book, but you can always print just the pages you need.

Contact Vivitar and see if they can help. There have been some problems with images on some cameras. Vivitar may fix this for you.
