You can try this and see if it works for you:

Connect to Wi-Fi networks Some of this information applies only to devices running Android 5.0 and higher. If your device is running 4.4 or lower, the Menu icon looks like this . If your device is running 4.3 or lower, the Settings icon looks like this .
You can connect to Wi-Fi networks with your device, as well as add networks you use often or remove networks you don't use any longer. You can also change the settings for saved Wi-Fi networks on your device.
Keep in mind that your device will remember networks you connect to, along with security details, and connect automatically when in range.

Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network

1. Open your device's Settings menu .
2. Under "Wireless & networks," touch Wi-Fi.
3. Touch the Wi-Fi switch to turn it to the On position.
4. You'll see a list of saved and available networks.
   • Secured networks display a lock icon and ask for a password to connect.
   • Your device will remember networks it connects to and automatically connect to them when in range.
   • You can forget a saved Wi-Fi network if you don't want your device to connect to it automatically.
5. Touch a network name from the list of available networks to connect to it.
   • Android 5.0 or higher: If the saved network you want to connect to isn't showing up in the list of networks on your screen, touch the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen. Touch Refresh to reload the list of networks. Touch Add network and enter the network's name (SSID) and other security details, if needed. Then touch Save.
6. Once connected, your device will say "Connected" under the network name.

Once you've connected to a network, it will show up in your Saved networks list. If you have trouble connecting to Wi-Fi, try the following steps:

Wireless networks depend on special-purpose radio receivers and transmitters that substitute the exchange of messages over the air for the exchange of messages that occurs over wired connections on conventional networks. When you power on your PC, Windows Vista automatically searches for available wireless networks.
The network icon in the system tray, shown in Figure 1, enables you to view a list of local networks that Windows Vista detects. Notice that the network icon in this figure is marked with a red X, which indicates no network connection is currently established.

When you click this icon, a window opens indicating you're not connected to a wireless network, as shown in Figure 2.

Connecting to a Wireless Network Using Linksys Wireless Manager Article ID: 17673
Follow these instructions to connect to a wireless network using the Linksys Wireless Manager.

Step 1:
Launch the Linksys Wireless Manager. To learn how to access the Linksys Wireless Manager, click here.

Step 2:
In the Connect to a Wireless Network screen, locate the name of your wireless network in the list.

NOTE: If your wireless network is not in the list, click here to learn How to Connect to a Hidden Wireless Network. If your wireless network supports Wi-Fi Protected Setup , click here to learn How to Connect Using Wi-Fi Protected Setup.

Step 3:
Select your network. Then click Connect.

Step 4:
If the wireless network uses wireless security, enter the security key or network. Then click Next.

Step 5:
The Checking Connection screen appears while the Wireless Manager establishes the wireless connection. When it is finished, click Next to continue.

Step 6:
The Connected to Your Network screen appears. If you want the Wireless Manager to remember your network settings select Remember this network. Click Finish to exit the Wireless Manager.

NOTE: Saving a network's settings will make it easier to reconnect to the network.

If Your comp if its win 7 Operating system

1. Click on start go to control panel--> go to
2. In network and sharing centre in the left hand side click on manage wireless network
3. In manage wireless network, you can see the networks which you have connected before , right click on the network name and select remove network. In the same way remove each one of them, the screen should me empty. there should be 0 items.
4. Then go back to network and sharing centre and click on connect to a network, you can see your network name , click on the network and click on connect to connect to the network.

If Your comp if its win Vista Operating system

1. Click on start go to control panel--> go to network and internet and then click on network and sharing centre
2. In network and sharing centre in the left hand side click on manage wireless network
3. In manage wireless network, you can see the networks which you have connected before , right click on the network name and select remove network. In the same way remove each one of them, the screen should me empty. there should be 0 items.
4. Then go back to network and sharing centre and click on connect to a network, you can see your network name , click on the network and click on connect to connect to the network.

If Your comp if its win XP Operating system

1. Click on start go to control panel--> go to network and internet connections
2. Then go to network connections
3: You can see wireless network connection , right click on it and go to properties and go to the wireless networks tab
4. In wireless network tab, under preferred networks, if you see any network , remove it and then push ok
5. Then right click on wireless network connection and go to view available wireless networks
6. here you can see the network and you can connect with your password.

If the icons indicate there is a Wireless Network Connection available but you cannot see any web pages, do the following to verify the correct, current DNS IP address is selected.
1. Right-click the network icon, and select Network and Sharing Center , select Manage network connection .
2. Right-click either the Local Area Connection or the Wireless Network Connection and select Properties .
3. On the Network Connection Properties page, highlight the Internet Protocol option, and select Properties .
4. Select the Obtain an IPv6 address automatically and Obtain DMS server address automatically options, and then click OK .
5. Returning to the Network Connection Properties page, on the Networking tab, select Configure .
If there is a Power Management tab for this device, de-select the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option.
6. Restart the computer.

The computer retains a list of all the networks to which it has been connected, and it tries to connect to the first wireless network it discovers in the physical area. You must determine if that is the network you want and if the connection is using the current IP address and password.
1. Right-click the network icon and select the Network and Sharing Center option. The graphic display indicates if there is or is not a connection.

oIf a list of available wireless networks is displayed, highlight any active connection and then select the option to Disconnect the computer from all the networks.
2. Now that all wireless networks are disconnected, manually set up a new wireless connection.
Do not click Connect to refresh a connection. If there was a problem with that connection, just clicking Connect will refresh the same wrong information.
3. On the Network and Sharing Center window, select Connect to a network , then select Set up a connection to a network , and then Manually connect to a wireless network and click Next .
4. When prompted, enter the required network information, and then click Next .
o Network Name (SSID)
o Security type
o Encryption type
o Security key or passphrase .

I assume you want to stop vista from automatically connecting to wireless networks other than yours.......try this:

Open Network and Sharing Center, click Manage wireless networks, click on your "home" network & make sure that Connect automatically when this network is in range is checked. Now do the same for any other connection that is listed but uncheck the Connect automatically when this network is in range.


Go to Start > Network > Network and Sharing Center
click Manage network connections under 'Tasks'
Right-click Wireless Network Connection
Select Properties.
In the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialogue box, click the
Wireless Networks tab.
Select other wireless network like "Y5ZONE", "PCCW" and click Properties
Click Connection tab
Uncheck the box "Connect when this network is in range"

PPPoE connection is set up

1. Control Panel, double-click Network Connections. 2. Click the PPPoE connection under the Broadband group that you want to share, and then click Change settings of this connection under Network Tasks. 3. On the Advanced tab, click to select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box. 4. PPPoE connections behave in a similar way as do dial-up networking (DUN) connections, and you may want the connection to be automatically dialed when another computer on your network attempts to connect to the Internet. To do this, click to select the Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet check box. 5. If you want to allow other network users to enable or disable the shared Internet connection, click to select the Allow other network users to control or disable the shared Internet connection check box. 6. Under Internet Connection Sharing, in Home networking connection, click the LAN (Local Area Network) connection that connects the computer that is sharing its PPPoE Internet connection to the other computers on your network.

To resolve this issue, remove the network bridge. To do so, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, and then click My Network Places. 2. In the left pane, click View Network Connections. 3. Look for any connection that is bridged. 4. Right-click the bridged connection, and then click Remove From Bridge. 5. Repeat step 4 for each connection that is connected with a bridge. 6. When the bridge is removed from each network adapter, right-click Network Bridge, and then click Delete. 7. Click OK. When the all the bridged connections and the network bridge are removed, the broadband hardware is automatically detected.
