SOURCE: My Salter Electronic scale (3007)

The weighing pad mates with a circular metal plate underneath and needs to be rotated clockwise to unclip from the metal plate. Peel back the lower right corner of the instruction label on the bottom. This reveals a hole through which a philips head screwdriver needs to be inserted to loosen a screw which then allows the weighing pad to be rotated. The screw only needs to be loosened, not removed.

Salter bathroom scales need 2 2032 batteries but can't get them to work

Question moved from Cars and Trucks to a Salter category.

Usually the positive side goes uppermost. That is the side with the writing and the +.They normally put some kind of indication on the battery compartment.

Most of the instruction manual are online, if you tell me the model by clicking Comment under this post, I will see if I can find it.

Am trying to add clarification to an earlier question. The scale I am asking about is a wall mount kitchen scale: the make is Salter, the model 1601. It worked fine for several years until I changed t

Is it possible you put the batteries in the wrong way? Sometimes a device will still have power in that situation, even though it won't work as expected. Try a new set of batteries, but clean the contacts in the battery compartment first, and double-check the battery orientation.

Model 9114 salter scale shows Lo. I have changed the batteries but it still only shows Lo.

I had the same problem and, suspecting that the metal contacts weren't making proper contact with the batteries, I used a long nosed pliers to gently bend all ten contacts towards to the batteries (there are eight small tabs in the battery compartment, and two on the battery cover). If you don't have a long nosed pliers a small screwdriver should do it if you held the fixed part of each set of contacts so it doesn't detach during the process.
Unfortunately, it worked, but only for one weigh, and then it reverted to "Lo". This happened twice, so I telephoned the Salter Customer Service Helpline (01732 360783) who recommended a reset, which is done by removing the batteries, standing on the scale for 20 seconds, and replacing the batteries. That also only worked for one weigh, so they are looking into it further and I'll post the results here, but in the meantime I hope one of the above solutions will work for others.

I have a Salter 307 kitchen scale. Are there any instructions for disassembling this unit? Removed 6 + 1 screws and I still cannot open the unit. Please help!!

How to open up the Salter 3007 Aquatronic Digital Scale:
1. Look for a hole (covered by a label) on the bottom of the device, not far from the L-R centre line, and about 1-3/4" from the front. Peel back the label and use a small cross-head screwdriver to loosen the screw that can be seen though the hole (needs about one turn, no need to remove it). Place the scale upright, and rotate the weighing pad slightly in a clockwise direction. This will disengage the tabs on the plastic pad which hold it to a metal base, so that it can be lifted off. 2. Remove the six screws recessed around the bottom of the scale. 3. Place the scale upright and gently "snap" apart the top and bottom shells (catches molded into the left and right ends). Be *** VERY CAREFUL *** when doing this as the display is held in place on a plastic bridge by the upper shell. When this is removed the display is loose except for a flexible plastic printed connector strip (which links it to the circuit board). It is *** all too easy for this strip to break away at one end or the other ***.
