Connecting speakers to Computer

Just bought a Acer Aspire X1700
No Manual came with the computer.. Acer Website has limited instructions on recovery and other items but the speakers have a USB plug and another plug.. There are multiple plugs in the back of the computer to add a home theater but I don't know which of them to plug the speakers that came with the computer into..
I have a similar problem. I found the green plug in my 2 speakers

work fine, but I have nowhere to plug in woofer. can I buy an adapter to hook up woofer or more speakers?

In most cases the woofer plugs into the speaker which contains the power adapter plug, the green plug goes into the PC's audio out (usually a green plug on the back of the unit). When the USB is plugged into the machine the OS should plug and play the new hardware and may ask you to insert a driver disc if applicable.

After the OS has identified the new hardware and installed it you should be able to test additional audio out plugs if you are unable to hear sound from your first choice (again, ideally the green plug). There should also be a line out plug which may work for your purposes also.

If you are still having issues please post the model of your speakers so that we may look them up...

Cd drive in my acer aspire x1700 doesn't open

You are going to need a paper clip. Look fo a small hole next to the switch. straighten the paper clip and put it in the hole in the center. carefully push to activate the mechansium to open the door. Then you can troubleshoot the door. Turn off the computer then pull the power cord from it. Open the computer case find the power cable to the cdrom/dvdcdrw and push it in to make sure you have good connection. If it still doesn't work after this then you can get a new drive for less than $30.00 (usd)

Hope this helps,
Terry

I have a Acer aspire desktop computer m1100 and when I bought it did not come with a recovery disk and I did not make the cd because I was unaware of how to do it. Now the computer will not boot with out a...

by default the hard drive should have a recovery partition. go to the support section of the manufactures website and you should find detailed instructions of how to boot to the partition. if that option has been corrupted, you can purchase a recovery disc directly from acer. i've ordered nearly a hundred for customers in the past and have never paid more than 20.00 for a disc or disc set.

below you will find a link that will allow you to enter your product serial number and direct you to the purchase of a factory recovery cd/dvd.

How do i connect acer aspire x1700 to my LG home theater

Restore a acer aspire 4330 back to factory settings

Follow these instructions carefully:

To start the recovery process:
1. Restart the system.
2. While the Acer logo is showing, press <Alt> + <F10> at the same time to
enter the recovery process.
3. Refer to the onscreen instructions to perform system recovery.

I copied the above from an Acer manual, and it works on my own system, which is not the same model as yours. But you must understand that this will basically restore your computer to the condition in which it was when you bought it, unpacked it from the box, and followed the instructions to set up a new computer.

This will give you your system back as if it were brandy new, but in most cases, anything you created, like DOCs, or XLS files, again … ANYthing you created since buying this computer, will also probably not be there any more.

You will have a pristine, clean as new, computer system.

Be careful, be absolutely sure this is what you want to do, and go ahead and do it.

Connecting speakers to Computer

It's usually the green plug that you hook up speakers to. If you look closely at the sound card area of your computer, you will see little pictures telling you which one is for the mike, line in & speaker.
