Water doesn't drain

My washer goes thru the whole washing process (still spins) and when I lifted the lid up when the cycle was over it was still full of water. It's a Whirlpool top loader but don't know what the model # is. Thanks!

1) Be sure the drain hose isn’t kinked.

2) Check the tab on the lid that strikes the lid switch; if it is broken, the washer may stop during the drain cycle. Press and release the lid switch. If it doesn’t click each time you do this, it’s probably broken. If you’re experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repairperson.

3) The water pump may be broken or clogged with a small article of clothing, or the controls may be broken;

Washer fills with water but doesn't begin to agitate to wash. It also drains but doesn't spin when we set the dial to that

How to add fabric softner to the amana washer with locking lid

Check and see if there is a cup in the top of the agitator. Some machines have you put it there, turning back and forth during wash doesn't bother it, but the spin to empty the wash water causes the softener to go out through slots in the top of the cup and be held in the agitator. when it stops the softener drains into the tub, ready for the rinse cycle.

Doesn't spin

In top load washers, if the machine goes through the cycles and then just stops at the spin cycle and leaves you with no noise and a tub full of water more than likely the lid switch is bad and not completing the circuit for cycle to continue. This is a safety precaution to prevent injury by reaching in the machine while at high speed spin. If the machine is getting to the spin cycle and still turning slowly but not draining the water, the pump is probably the culprit, either being locked up or in most cases something like a sock, etc. is stuck in it preventing it from turning. This is usually indicated by a humming sound during the spin/drain section with no water draining.

Washer stops during rinse cycle

if unit is stoppin in rinse cycle and not advancing into drain/spin mode. you lift the lid and its stalled full of water??? clos the lid again and listen for a slight "clicking" noise, chances are you lid switch has gone bad, and the machine does not recognize the door being closed, and for safety reasons will not drain/ and or spin..very common issue!

Kenmoore washer , model 2262210 serial cl4434210, type111 . will not spin and does not drain . what are the possible problems . please help . thanks . T.W.N. at [email protected]

if this is a traditional top load washer, then your lid switch might be bad. Usually when this happens, your washer will start fine. Your put it for a normal wash, it does its thing, lets in water, and agitate and stuff, but when it goes to the spin cycle. it stays in that cycle and wont advance. Leaving you with a tub full of water. Like i said if its a traditional top load kenmore, the lid switch is the the gray looking part when you open your lid. when you open your lid, youll see two screws holding it. But you have to take the whole shell of the waher to get to it....take 2 screws on the back corners of the counsel, then flip the counsel up. Locate to metal clips and pop them put with screwdriver. unclip the lid switch connector located by the clear hose that runs down. then lift and pull the whole shell towards your and acess the switch from underneath. put back together how you took it apart.( MAKE SURE THE CLEAR HOSE THAT RUNS FROM THE TOP COUNSEL TO THE TUB DONT GET PINCHED BECAUSE YOUR WASHER WILL OVERFLOW WITH WATER) like i said if its a tradidonal top load kenmore....hope this helps

Washing machine does go thru spin cycle or drain water.

If the washer does not spin, take off the rubber bumbers inculding the little washers attached, inside the lid. It lowers the lid, which takes care of the problem. I had the same problem. Not anymore! Trust me, if nothing is wrong with any other part of the washer, this will work.
