You should look in the Default Devices section of the settings. But it could just be bad contacts in the jack plugs of the sound card.

u will need to get ur headphone jack replaced as it it the only sound out u have, secondly, u can go to anyone who repairs motherboard and get it done. its not neccesary only from the company because u will be charged more there, but mind u they give warranty for their work. so ur choice

check first you headphone jack speaker. if its working well, then the line from phone jack male to speaker continuity.

Try to recheck, device manager, click on sound, video,game controller,no (!) marks? try to disable then enable the device,update driver or uninstall and install device,or look for settings, enable speakers...or the worst thing is the phone jack is at fault.That help?

To make the output jack working, you have to go to control panel.

Click on "Sounds and Audio Devices" go to "Audio" and on the Default Device: select the sound device that comes on the 2nd line of the list.

Standard audio configuration for computers is:
Pink jack is a Line In for microphones, green jack is a line out for headphones, and the blue jack is a digital line out to connect compliant stereo systems.

for Aspire 3680, the button is close to headphone jack. it's a switch.
but make sure your wireless card is detected and enable in device manager.

have you checked the sound card from bios?is there everithing ok?have you checked the driver instaled in start/run/dxdiag?do you have a sound card onboard or a stand alone one?It may be damaged too.
check all this after you are sure that in the operating sistem,windows lets say is everything ok from control panel/sounds and audio devices.
if it is not a software problem,than your card must be replaced and for this visit a specialised Acer service.they will test and recomand you the best solution
