Hey, I had the same problem, I've got an Acer Aspire 6920 and I swapped out Vista that was on it for Windows XP

I went to the link you posted but it just goes to acer.com
so I figured I'd try something

if you go to acer aspire 6920 drivers, you can only pick Vista and Windows 7, and not Windows XP

instead, pick 6530 drivers (older acer) and pick the Bison driver:
http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/Driver/Camera/CCD_Suyin_2.0.8.3.zip?acerid=633639858186446758&Step1=Notebook&Step2=Aspire&Step3=Aspire%206530&OS=V10&LC=en&BC=Acer&SC=PA_7

Install it (with or without installing the previous Crystal eye, doesn't matter, and it will work properly

Open the device manager and check to see if there are any yellow exclimation points.

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Allright, no prob. Let's see if their is an updated driver for you device.

Go ahead and download and install this file from Acer:

    http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/forms/p...

Hopefully this will fix your problem, Acer is REALLY bad about organizing their support site in an easy to use manner.

    Let me know what happens.

    Best of luck!

A lot of people seem to have the same problem that you have. You might want to try posting your question again and note that you've already downloaded the latest software from Acer.

I've never owned an Acer otherwise I'd know what the deal was right away.

My webcam shortcut not available

By default, the webcam icon does not appear on the desktop. However, if you want a quick access to your webcam application, you can create a shortcut on the desktop:
  1. Click Start, and then All programs.
  2. Click the Acer Crystal Eye webcam folder.
  3. Right-click Acer Crystal Eye webcam, click Send to and then Desktop (create shortcut).

Can't turn on webcam on ACER aspire AZ3620-ES30P

  • Click "Start." Click "All Programs." Open the "Crystal Eye Webcam" folder. Click "Acer Crystal Eye Webcam" to launch the webcam and turn on the camera. If "Acer Crystal Eye" isn't available on the Start Menu, go to "Acer," then click "Acer OrbiCam."
  • Click the drop-down menu on the toolbar to change the resolution. Click the gear icon to change the settings.

Click the camera icon to capture a photo. To turn off the Acer webcam, click the "X" button on the top of the window.

I have an acer aspire 5535 with a crystal eye webcam. I had to reformat. afterwwords, I could'nt find a Icon or anything for the webcam so went to acer/support and dowloaded both drivers again now I have a...

You can right click on the icon and check it's properties.

It should link to the proper place in your program files. This is the path specified for my icon. You might actually be able to copy and paste this into your icon properties and see if it works.

Otherwise, you should open Program Files in your C: drive and look for the Crystal Eye folder that has been installed since you re-installed it from acer/support. Find the executable in the crystal eye webcam folder that does start your webcam properly, and then when you've found it, right click on it and specify that you want to make a shortcut to it. Then take the shortcut that appears and move it over to your desktop to replace the disconnected icon that isn't working.

    Good luck,

notebook acer Aspire 6920G <<< real name.! 2009 made, long in tooth that
NO OS told at all, it is a windows 7 only PC, so is it still w7
or did others stuff w10 on it and now fails SURE IT WILL.
and the OS and the driver and PC must match
    a 3 way match or it will fail. 6902g + w7 match.
and only from ACer.com, no place else..
ok? w7 only ok? and only for this PC !
the cam must show up in device manager ! no errors. or it will be dead
and guess what 1 more hint, the cam runs off usb (inside)
so if the USB ports are dead so be the cam for the same reason
wrong drivers. and again only w7 acer driver work from acer.com
not told at al what OS came with PC new (it was w7) but ive no idea at all history of any PC, and changes to the OS
acer.com shows weak support on 2009 PC, sorry that is what i see there,
    or try this.
    internet connected, w7 running
click on device manager and look for errors
and update all Usb and CAM seen there.
this is the w7 microsoft PnP way, that can work. and is safe
no other ways are safe, ever. (googling will get you infected fast)

Cannot find the icon or whatever in order to use the crystal eye

Right click on an open space of your desktop. Select New>Shortcut.

When the Create Shortcut window comes up, click Browse.

    Double-click "Computer".

Double-click "Acer (C:)" or your C: drive. It may not be named Acer.

    Double-click "Program Files".

    Double-click "Acer Crystal Eye webcam".

Click "Acer Crystal Eye webcam" next to the small icon. (NOTE: Do not select the one that just says "Crystal Eye". It is only an icon, not the program.)

    Click OK.

Back at the Create Shortcut window, click Next.

Type in whatever name you want to give, or leave the default as is.

    Click Finish.

Icon appears on desktop. Double-click the icon to begin the program.
