Voicemail I bought my wife a pantech u4000 and we can not figure out how to check the voice mail...The menu does not show an option for it ..HELP

I'm here in Australia and straight away thought is Verizon like some wholesale carriers here where by default VMB is turned on and the only way to switch it off/disable is by contacting the network/cell provider....so I asked Google and came up with the info in link.

First you should know the voicemail enquiry number of your mobile operator. Some of the operators save their numbers unto your sim card by default when you purchase it, but if that is not the case, check the information booklet that came with your sim starter pack. Or ask around. Then dial voicemail. Since your have not initially set up a voice mail box, you would be guided through steps to set up one. Just follow the voice prompts and it would be set up.

1.Press the "Menu/Select" button.
2.Use the up or down arrows to navigate to the "Voicemail Setup" option and press "Menu/Select."
3 .Navigate to the "Access Number" option and press "Menu/Select."
4 .Use the number pad to enter your voice mail access telephone number provided by your telephone company. Use the "Mute/Remove" button to delete any numbers entered by mistake.
5.Press "Menu/Select" to hear the confirmation code.
6 .Program the "Password," "Play," "Erase," and "Skip" options following the above steps, substituting the "Access Number" option in step three with the option you desire to program.
7 .Dial your voice mail by using the "Voicemail" button on the telephone.
8 .Listen and follow the prompts provided by your telephone company to set up your voice mail's greeting.
9 .Use the "Voicemail" button any time you wish to dial into the system to listen to voice mail. Use the programmed "Play," "Skip," and "Erase" options to navigate through your messages.

If you mean setting up voice mail out-going message, then see below (for AT&T cell service). The phone will dial the voice mail center for you after you set it. Then it will check the number of messages on the system. Press Menu > Messaging > Settings. Then select Voice Mail and enter the phone number for the call center. Then press the AT&T button to exit.

To listen to the messages, press and hold 1 or press Menu > Messaging > Voice Mail. Then the number set above will be dialed.

To set up the voice mail box, start as you would for listening to the messages above. Note: you must use your wireless phone and be inside the AT&T coverage area.

To set up your voicemail box:

1. Follow the prompts to create and enter a 4- to 15-digit voicemail password.
2. Record your name and personal greeting, then press the # key
3. After completing the setup process, press * to return to the Main menu.

To create a memo for yourself, press Menu > Tools > Voice Memo (or if using the advanced menu, Menu > My Stuff > Tools > Voice Memo). Then press Options > New (or Create New, if you have created one before). Press Re-rec to record and pause to momentarily stop recording. Press the AT&T button to stop recording. Press Play to play back a memo and the AT&T button to stop play-back.

in most mobile phones it works this way: 1. look in your contactlist or numberlist or whatever they call the place you can save numbers, there usualy is a contact named 'voicemail' or serviceline, if there isn't contact your operator 2. dial this number 3. there is a menu they guide you through, choose voicemail settings and then set/reset voicemailmessage, now you can say your voicemail message

call your voicemail, go into the options menu and go to message notification and turn it on.

access your voice mail from your phone and go through the option.....all service providers have different menu options so i cant walk you through the steps exactly, but the answer should be in personal settings or system settings.....many providers have the option of turning the automated system off....make sure its on and you will be good to go!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Check your voice mail options and make sure the message waiting indicator is turned on.

try sending the call str8 to ur voicemail so u will be back into the regular call menu
