So, my phone has been working just fine until this morning. My roommate's phone broke last night, so she asked if she could put her AT&T SIM card in my T-Mobile phone. I asked if that would be a problem (the different carriers), but she said she had done it before with other T-Mobile phones. I'm not sure what she did, and she may have done something weird with her SIM card that damaged my phone, but now my SIM card won't work in my phone anymore. I put it in, and the phone just says "Insert SIM." What should I do?

Not sure if this will work with you.. but i got the same problem with my nokia 3100... but i got it fixed when i put a little piece of paper as a filler in between the sim and the battery... that piece of paper should just be thick enough to make the sim card tighten to its place... hope it will help...

you need to get a new main board.....or you can take it to a mobile store tech and have the phone fully service.
But the best solution would be to buy a need mobile....most time when a mobile gets wet......it's more of a 50/50 chance that it will work properly again.

Make sure you remove the battery before removing or inserting any SIM card. Unfortunately, I also get the "Insert SIM" message even after making sure my old SIM is inserted properly (and locked in place) in my Motorala v66 replacement.

Your phone is not recognizing your sim.Any sell phone that is charged can be used for emergency calls.
