Canon Pixma MP280 reset

i did the steps to reset canon pixma mp 280 but did not work !!
so please tell me any way to reset it because i am so needy to print a lot of things , kindly be advise that the secreen shows e 0-8 , and the printer dosn't get to zero mode when i do the steps as shown in your directions on website

Error p02 detect the Carriage error in your printer..

You need to reset the printer.Follow the given steps to reset the printer

Turn ON the printer.
Press and Hold the Reset button on the printer.
While pressing the Reset button, press and hold the Color Start button.
Wait for 5 seconds.
Release the Color Start button, and then release the Reset Button.
Wait until the printer starts to configure itself. This should take approximately around 20 seconds.
The no. 1 should be on the display, press and hold the Tool button and the letter A should now be on the display.
While pressing on the Tool button, press and hold the Reset button.
Wait util there are no more blinking lights on the printer.
Release the Tool button, and then release the Reset Button.

Error P2 on my MP240 was simply because the cartridge unit belt had slipped of the cog on the left hand side cog attached to the motor. I reattached and it took away the message.
