My metal gear soild 4 game was working just fine then a update came and when i start a new or old game when it's loading it takes forever to load i got a new copy of metal gear soild 4 it didn't too and I GOT A NEW COPY IT STILL DIDN'T WORK. i'd tried to instail it AND STILL DIDN'T WORK.

Update the firmware. Problem is then fixed.

Certain games copy gigs and gigs of data over during first install to speed up game play, otherwise you would be waiting forever for certain games to load.

GTA and Metal Gear take up a ton of space.

The best solution for you is to get an external FAT32 usb drive with at least 80gb of free space on it, backup your PS3 to it, and then upgrade your hard drive to a 250gb or 320gb SATA drive from Best Buy. They're going for $49.99 and below so it's a cost effective upgrade.

Once you've got the new drive swapped in you just have to follow the on screen prompts and RESTORE your PS3 from the backup you created earlier and you are good to go ;)

Make sure you PS3 is connected to the internet so you can retrieve updates for the game. An update may have fixed this issue your describing.

yeah i had to restart the whole stinking game because act one : end wouldn't load. not that i was that far into this game but it was a pain nonetheless. I don't know why this happened. I didn't use any cheats or anything like that. I think the "Metal Gear" franchise has gone downhill starting with "Snake Eater" for the PS2. It's sad because this series has so much promise but then all of a sudden Hideo Kojima started with all sorts of weird plots and way way to much dialogue.

whip the disc against the wall then put it back in your ps3

When you click on metal gear online this means that you have to connect to the internet.
Try connecting your ps3 with internet this may work

Download game to Hard Drive it fixes these issues and reduces load times by a lot. on and off-line.

try cleaning the discs or blow out the inside
