Hi there.
Take the battery out and try to power it up on AC power only.
please post back the results
Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!
Ok, have a look at the power adapter itself, check the fuse in the wall plug and reset the surge protector if you have one
Ok, on to the next one.
Have a look at the power adapter input, get a paperclip or a very small screwdriver and check the pin inside the adapter port on the laptop, is it loose? can you smell electrical burning or is the pin even there?
Hi there
It sound like the processor has blown, this is probably due to a build up of dust or the CPU fan has failed, you can replace the processor and fan but there may be more damage done to the machine because of overheating.
I'm so sorry to have to tell you this!!
take the machine to a reputable PC repair store to have this checked out visually.
kind regards and good luck

No success. Still Dead!
I have two chargers and two batteries (one of each are new )both are ok . 'still no go!'
Pin there and solid, when adapter is connected and waggled no change. No smell.
When last working ( on my knee ) noticed heat from underside of lap top more than usual, screen froze and would not turn off, so I removed battery.
I am not usnig battery anymore since it went dead and wouldn's allow computer to work, it would freeze. I've been using the adapter fine, but now it doesn't start at all. Could it be that I accidentally did something while cleaning screen and starting laptop at same time?
Same problem. Was working fine with adapter, now it would not start. Pin in place. Possible damage while cleaning screen and starting Laptop at same time?
