After Virus was corrected by McAfee, and prior to, my files would not show up on my hard drive, yet the only way to view any of my files was to search them. None of my files have been deleted. I am only able to view them when I search them. How do i get it to show the files normally again?
Your files has been hidden by virus, you need to unhide them manually using dos command unhide or by using any application of fixing this error freely available.

i) i think this type of behaviours speciall due to presence of spware, virus in your system, initially to perform a full system scan on your disk and make sure that this not repeating in near future ...
ii) after do this try to change its mode(read only) by right-click on the folder or file u want to use and at the bottom you have to uncheck read only.........

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use this data recovery program to recover your files.
