Swapping the sensors is only a temporary fix. As they get old, they get dirty lenses And/or the ir becomes weaker. The sun only adds to the problem. I suggest replacing the saftey sensors.

SOURCE: Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+: Can I bypass the sensors on my garage door opener?...

You cannot bypass the sensors but you can try reversing their position so that the sun isn't hitting the receiving unit. You can also move them back from the door or use something like the tube inside a roll of toilet tissue to shade the lens.

SOURCE: Remote Control closes garage door but does not open

It sounds like a case of your keypad losing signal strength enough that it cannot transmit through the closed door. If a new battery doesn't do the job a new keypad will.

Owners Manual for Chamberlain Garage Door opener. Model 2265R

Unfortunately, the 2265R is not a Chamberlain supported model. The manuals for supported garage door openers are list here: http://www.chamberlain.com/parts-and-support/installation-manuals . The manual for the 2265 is here: http://www.chamberlain.com/CatalogResourcesV3/en-us/shared/files/tucmanuals/A2497M.PDF . There is also the 2265C: http://www.chamberlain.com/CatalogResourcesV3/en-us/shared/files/tucmanuals/A2512M.PDF .

It could be that the 2265R is a refurbished model. Then the manual for the 2265 garage door opener will give you the the correct manual.

In my experience, when the garage door goes down partway and then reverses completely, the problem is something breaking the light beam between the safety sensors. This can be a piece of grass or the shadow from the door when one or both sensors are getting full sun. If the problem is some weed getting pushed into the sensor range, simply cut the nearby grass shorter. To check if the problem is a shadow, try getting a couple of people to stand near (but outside) of the garage door. They should be positioned to cast a shadow on the sensors. If the door closes properly when the button is pressed, then the solution is to wait for a slightly different sun position to close the door or to continue to hold the button on the wall panel.

I hope this helps.

My garage door starts down then goes back and the motor light flashes 10 times. The owner's manual only refers up to 6 flashes.

Richard, what is the make of your GD Opener unit? However, make sure the antena wire on the unit is turned up. 2. sometimes direct sun on the sensors prevent operation from the remote. 3.adjust sensors on both sides making sure the green or red lights are on.4. check the remote battery ensuring red light works when you press the remote button. 5. finally, has on vacation switch on the unit has not been switched on. When the sun is directly over the door it will not close.

The sun is probably shining on your door sensors. You can move them back to a shady area or you can make shades from the center tube of a roll of toilet tissue.

Garage door opener

You need to do is shade the eyes some how for th door to work. What I did was remove them and put them up by the opener so the sun does not get to them.

My garage door will not close during the day

What it is is the electric beams at the door are getting blinded buy the sun. They are the two black boxes on both sides of the door about a foot from the ground. Put a piece of card board in front of them not blocking the beam dut to block the sun. All that they are is safety beams for kids so they do not get hurt. If you have to move them to the top where the sun will not hit them. Sorry to say though you can not remove them all the way. Also make sure the lite on them is not blinking if so they are out of line.
