Hoover Tempo Vacum Cleaner - 2yrs old. Just stop working. Checked all recomanded steps in manual. Looking for a location of fuse within appliance to reset.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will check for loose connection at the switch. It is quite possible since I plugged several times and occassionaly a short burst of motor and then stopped.

canot see any mention of reset swich in manual, try renuing the fuse first, if it still does not work change the plug.cutting the cord back about 3 inches,if still no luck have it looiked at by your local repair shop.
remove the screws from the funny looking thing on the back (about 10 philips head screws) and remove the blockage from the big hose. Don;t stop working on it until you are absolutely certain there is no blockage. You may need a long screw driver and maybe another smaller vacum to help get the stuff out. I have the same machine and had the same trouble.
If you want to prove or disprove blockage as the trouble, remove the handle and listen to the motor.
Find the current rating for the vacuum cleaner motor (on a plate somewhere on the machine). Is it somewhat less than the breaker rating in the panel? If so, then either the motor is overloading the breaker due to bad bearings or a shorted winding in the motor or the breaker is failing. Check the current draw of the running motor with a clamp-on ammeter (a friend with one or an electrician). It should be close to the rating on the plate. If in excess, then the motor needs to be repaired or replaced. The motor normally works harder when it is pulling full vacuum--it speeds up if the air flow is plugged.

There are a few different models including bagless and bagged versions of the Tempo of which you should be able to find any one of the pdf. adobe files.
Good luck and don't forget to rate.
