My Tevion card reader dvd player won't read my burned cds. I have only burned 3 so far, but only one works. I am using a Divx format (AVI) and I'm also downloading the videos from Youtube, using a convertor. Could somebody tell me what could i do to burn them correctly? Also what type of cds or dvds should i use, and what speed should i burn them at?

I do not believe this player plays AVI videos, not to mention whatever codec you are trying to use.
Download VSO ConvertXtoDVD and convert your AVI files to DVD and then burn them to DVD-R (NOT DVD+R), the 4.7GB discs (single-layer).
This process takes a very long time, depending on the size of the movies you are converting, some 1-2 hours, some 8-24 hours.
I suggest buying a Philips DVD Player that plays DivX and XviD AVI files, they seem to be the best. You can just burn the AVI to any disc and it will play. [Most popular seems to be Philips DVP 642]
Cheers.

1.Have you finalized the discs?
2. have you checked the disk type the various players will accommodate not all machine will play all disks - this is particularly the case with CD/DVD - RW's
The read appropriate manuals
SOURCE: Can I burn to disk a movie from my hard drive "avi file format"and play it in a dvd player
you cant play avi on normal dvd player, but you can convert avi to dvd format by use free softwere ( filmMachine )
SOURCE: DivX certified player cannot read DivX files on DVD+R
Is there a Divx logo on the player? Does this particular DVD player capable of reading DVD+R disks?
If you used the Divx converter program, there is a way to create a DVD in Divx format with menus. Did you use that particular program? If you didn't, you may have the DVD in a data format and the player can't read it that way.
