LG Fusic 550 Sprint - Memory Card Error with 8 GB Sandisk MicroSD

Hello,

My Sprint LG Fusic works fine with Kingston 1GB MicroSD. When I used with the new 8 GB Sandisk, the phone says " Memory Card Error. Please reset the phone". I have turn off and removed the battery about few minutes, but the problem still exists. I even formatted the 8 GB card. The card is read fine with the Card reader. I can copy and delete files using SD card adapter on the computer.

I'm wondering if LG Fusic 550 even recognizes the 8 GB card since the phone is old and 8 GB card is the new technology.

I tried to created the default Sprint folders like MEDIA, DCIM, etc...

Thank you very much for your helps.

Believe it or not, a lot of the older phones (an even the newer phones) will not support the 8GB memory card. Most of the phones on the market that support 8GB cards are the smart phones and PDA's. There are a few standard phones that support it but not many. Unfortunately, the LG 550 is not one of them. :o/

You may need to take it back and exchange it for a smaller one.

I formated by 2gb memory card of kingston it is turned into 1gb i was surprised. please resolve my problem. we have any solution for this? thank you

You may have partitioned it into two one GB memory cards, but that is unlikely. I think it may just be a 1GB card, or you have 1GB of space occupied. Also, if during the format, you specified the amount of space to format, that would have affected it. Do it again and input 2048MB.

My kingston micro sd card is not dtectable by either phone or computer. It has stopped working suddenly. So please tell what i have to do to make it work again.....

You can go to www.sandisk.com and download a low level format utility to format your memory card. If that don't work then your memory card is fried unfortunately.

I'm using a 1gb sandisk sd memory card to sync mp3 song on it. THe mp3 songs go on it fine and play on the computer and on the mp3 player ok. The problem is I have about 533mb of space used and have about...

You may have reached the maximum number of files allowed in the root directory of the file system. If you already have a folder on the card, try moving some of the MP3 files into that folder. If you can copy 1 new MP3 file onto the card, that is your problem. Hopefully your MP3 player supports folders!

Micro SD 2 GB just stopped working

The PIC or EEPROM inside these cards may not be working. I guess you best bet is to buy a new one try Kingston brand or go with another Sandisk.
