Performance drop after first service to my 66 plate CX5 (175 diesel model)- "injector learn update" was run by dealers - could this have modified ECU settings and affect performance?

Hi. It is possible, part of the update could have been to lower fuel injection pressure to help solve other problems and that can affect your engine power.

What's The Main Factors Affecting the Quality of Injection Mold

There are many factors that may affect the quality of the plastic products in the process of plastic injection mold, and they can be summed up as follows:1. Plastic MaterialsThe complexity of plastic materials' performance determines the complexity of the injection mold process. The performance of plastic materials varies greatly due to their different varieties, grades, manufacturers or even different batches. Different performance parameters may lead to completely different moldings.2. Injection TemperatureThe melt flows into the cooled cavity and losses its heat due to heat conduction. At the same time, the melt generates heat due to shearing action, and this part of the heat may be more or less than the lost heat caused by heat conduction, which depends on the injection conditions. The viscosity of the melt becomes worse with the increasing of temperature. In this way, the higher the injection temperature is, the worse the melt viscosity becomes and the smaller the required filling pressure needs. Meanwhile, the injection temperature is also limited by the thermal degradation temperature and decomposition temperature.3. Mold TemperatureThe lower the mold temperature is, the faster the heat loses, due to the heat conduction; the lower the melt temperature is, the worse the mobility becomes. This phenomenon is particularly obvious when we adopt a lower injection rate.4. Injection TimeThe influences of injection time on the injection process are in three aspects:(1)When we shorten the injection time, the shear strain rate of the melt will increase, and the injection pressure which are used for filling the cavity should also be increased. (2) When we shorten the injection time, the shear strain rate of the melt will increase and the melt viscosity decreases due to the shear thinning characteristic. The injection pressure should also be decreased in order to fill the cavity.(3)When we shorten the injection time, the shear strain rate in the melt as well as the heat productivity will get higher, and meanwhile, the heat lost due to heat conduction is only a little. Thus, the higher the melt temperature is, the worse the viscosity becomes. And the injection pressure should be decreased so as to fill the cavity. As a result of the above three factors, the curve of the injection pressure which is required to fill the cavity presents in a "U" shape. That is, there exist an injection time when the required injection pressure is minimal.

How to select Injection mold steel?

There are many kind of steel: for long runs production, a durable mold is required, the tool steel must be selected properly; for small volume production, steel selection can be as economic as possible as long as it meet the requirement of production demands.
How to choose the injection mold steel? Important steel properties include:
Ease of machining
Dimensional stability after heat treatment
Wear resistance
Surface finish
Corrosion resistance

Mold steel we selected frequently are 1.2344, 1.2343, 1.2312, 1.1730, H13, S136, 2083, etc. Normally we categorized them as pre-harden steel or harden steel. Pre-harden steel can be machined and used directly after purchase, harden steel required heat treatment during process, the machining take longer time, injection mold made by harden steel usually have long service life.

Corrosion resistant hardened steels should be selected when conventional flame retardants are used. In the case of halogen free flame retardant DSM thermoplastics, standard steel types can be selected. Beryllium copper inserts may be used for improved cooling near hot spots. High heat conductivity is also required for gate drops in hot runner molds. Standardization of mold parts is growing, not only for ejector pins, leader pins and bushings, but also for mold plates and even complete mold bases. These standard mold bases require only machining of the cores, cavities and cooling channels and fitting of an ejection system. Advantages are:

Cost savings 3050%
Short delivery times
Interchangeability
Easy and rapid repair

Ford 6.4 diesel no power showing bad part filter, what do i do ?

Ensure nothing is strangling the intake or exhaust and then ensure nothing is limiting the free flow of a good supply of clean air-free fuel.

If nothing is found it will be time to delve into the engine conditions and settings, the performance of the injection system and any electronic controls.

Renault laguna 1.9 dci injection fault on dash but car performs fine

probally be a good idea to have a local shop run a fuel system check to eliminate alot of wasted time or money. its well worth the time to have it properly checked by a trained mechanic. alot of engine problems the computer picks up wont be noticed at first and can lead to expensive repairs

I am not particular with this mitsubishi 4m40 engine, i just wanna ask, if how can we maintain and ensure if this is in perfect timing, we could'tn see any timing marks except from its pulley, so...

There is a special tool to put back the injection pump. MH063302 OR IT EQUIVALENT. On crankshaft gear mark 1, on idler gear mark 11 to match them. watch the timing chain marked and idler marking.

Honda cbr1100xx super blackbird 2000. it is using half a tank in about 20-25 miles running rough and coughing abit. had ned sprk plucgs new coil packs new lead reset ecu still remains the same please help.

This motorcycle has EFI Electronic Fuel Injection here is a clip I took from Total Motorcycle.com

· Electronic CPU provides two digital 3-D fuel injection maps for each cylinder and one digital 3-D ignition map for cylinder pairs, creating ideal fuel mixture and spark advance settings for superb response.
· Unique knock-control sensor monitors ignition advance and improves mid-range performance
· Slim-tipped NGK VX spark plugs offer high performance and minimal build-up for consistent operation
· 360-degree exhaust collector, combined with EFI and ignition settings, provides stunning mid-range power

Web site address is

In short what all this means is you have in my opinion one or more "Map" sensors gone bad which will affect both the injection and the timing.

I say this because the bike starts and runs telling me that the CPU, plugs and coils are all doing there job, just not at the right time.

Once you get this figured out drop the oil in the crankcase and change your oil filter. With that amount of gas going through the engine it will no doubt have contaminated the oil making it thinner and you don't want that.

My 86 b 2000 is now 25 yrs old and doesn't require emission any more ,can i buy a different carb. and exhaust manifold and if i can whats the best carb and manifold do i use?

I didn't know anybody even used carburetors after 1982. By that time, it was cheaper and easier to meet clean air standards with fuel injection, and if done right, fuel injection provides better performance anyway. You can tweak performance with different manifolds, improved exhaust piping and possibly a turbocharger. There may be a "high-performance" ROM chip for your engine computer; this permits a greater fuel delivery under acceleration conditions.

Note: some smaller engines used a single throttle body injector rather than one for each cylinder. Theoretically you could replace this with a carburetor, but modifying the engine controls to work correctly with it would be a nightmare.
