Go to the first line thats free. right now when i pick up the handset it goes to intercom and i have to manually hit line one or which ever line happens to be free. please help, thanks
Depending on the software level, there is a possible chance for this to work...
first question though... can you dial a 9 to get a line out?
If this is possible, that means that we can change the PRIME LINE for a line pool access rather than intercom.
-> Get into system programming
-> get into TERMINALS&SETS and type in your extension
-> enter LINE ACCESS and hit next till you find PRIME LINE it should say I/C (this is intercom)
-> press change till you see PoolA
-> hit next and RLS to end programming.
Now everytime that you pick up your handset, it will pick the first available line out!
Most office phones require an "outside" line and cannot just pick up a line, Meridians especially. this is a common amongst most office phone system manufacturers that deal with multi-line situations. sorry I cannot help you much further. Ask your IT department (if available) and see if there is a setting in the main system unit that could be programmed to do so. I dont think its possible though.
