SOURCE: dont know the sound card name and there is no sound what can i do

Do u have built in soundcard or a bought one? If that is built in, just go to the site of maker of the mainboard, search with the model name of the mainboard, you should get the driver. If that is a bought one, Remove the cover of the CPU, look at the soundcard..look for the name of device part number. google with it..you should find the solution.

Yes. Download the program "Everest" Here is a link:

http://download.cnet.com/Everest-Ultimate-Edition/3000-2086_4-10499291.html

Run it. Even the free trial should give you the information you are looking for. I use it so often, I just paid for the full version.

Hope this helps.

I dont know which sound card i have so im looking for a way to find out

In Windows XP, click start-run and type devmgmt.msc, then hit enter on your keyboard (if you're running Vista. go to the start button, and type in devmgmt.msc on the Start Search field and hit enter on your keyboard).
The Device Manager window will open next, click the "+" sign to expand the "Sound, Video and game controllers" section. Here you will find the name of your sound card. You can also right ciick the name of your card that shows up, and choose properties for more info on the sound card installed on your system.
