Plastic clips failing

All the plastic clips that hold the parts of the dish rack together and hold the disk rack wheels onto the disk rack are failing. They become brittle and break. I have replaced all of them twice already. They only seem to last about a year and a half.

I had the same problem. At first, LG was very uncooperative, but last time I called, they were the opposite....maybe they had a customer service initiative after reading all these complaints! In any case, they sent me 10 new wheels, even though our unit was out of warranty.

Hello there, I have a Bosch Logixx dishwasher which I purchased just over 2 years ago. My upper dishwasher tray is not fitting properly into the hose pipe holes on the inside of the back wall of the...

Hello Deepak,

You can definitely fix this yourself, but I'm not entirely sure from your description which part is "dropping off". It may be a simple fix where something needs to be clipped back into place or you may need to replace something. Please can you take a look at the images below and identify which part you are having trouble with.

Below is the back of the upper spray arm which clips on to the upper rack. It has a grey plastic cover behind which is a large white plastic washer / gasket. The washer simply slots in to the back of the spray arm and the grey cover clips in over the top.

Your description suggests the grey plastic cover and/or the white washer are dropping off. If the grey plastic cover is missing, it may have fallen into the bottom of the washer under the lower rack, in which case you should be able to find it and clip it back on. If it's missing or wont clip back on, you will need to replace the upper spray arm as the cover and washer are not available separately.

This is the water delivery tube which clips to the back wall of the washing compartment. There is a metal clip which secures the tube to the wall. The open hole and one of the spigots slot in to the two holes in the back of the upper spray arm above. The spigot used depends on which height setting the upper rack is on.

Basically, everything simply clips together. If nothing is broken, you should be able to fix this at no cost by simply clipping the offending part back into place.

Hope this helps. If you need further assistance or help locating replacement parts, please let me know what needs to be replaced. Nearly all Bosch parts are available and in stock direct from Bosch.

Top rack dishes not getting clean

When the dishes on the top rack are not getting clean the most common problem is that the water supply hose in the rear of the top rack is misaligned. With the rack empty, pull out the rack and look in the rear where the supply hose slides into the water supply. Often a plastic clip or two has come apart. Realign everything and it will work fine. If you need a diagram go to sears direct parts where they have an excellent website. Enter your model number and you will be able to see a schematic showing each part and how they go together. Joe

2 upper rack rollers cracked in Maytag #MDB7600AWS - cant find simple replacement rollers for inside track - 1 1/4" - of upper rack.

JP Weld works great on repairing these junky Maytag parts. Note that they don't have a replacement for these upper wheels and a guy is selling expensive stainless steel replacements. The round connector broke off of ours that holds the wheel to the rack. My wife found a plastic button that fit within the space and we glued it with JP Weld epoxy (water and temperature resistant). 10 washes later, still working great! I expect it will "heal" any other plastic parts. NEVER will I buy a Maytag again!

My viking dishwasher does not rinse the soap scum off the dishes

Maybe . . . remove the lower rack and invert it. Look for cracked or missing plastic coating, exposed, rusted & possibly "swollen" inner steel rod/wire. If found, remove the upper rack and look for more of the same. What you think is "soap scum" is probably rust and other iron compounds leached by the dish soap out of the rusted steel onto the dishes and the dishwasher interior. The following worked for me . . .

To clean the interior (with both racks removed), set to "No Heat" dry, then "Pot & Pan" wash and allow to fill. Open door, dump in a bottle of "Lime A-Way", close & latch door and allow to complete cycle. This should remove most rust and iron-sulphate deposits from interior. If not, scrub them with Lime A-Way and a ScotchBrite pad, then cycle again.

Racks must be replaced (Viking are very expensive, Asko, Bosch, or other lower racks may fit: check your neighbors' racks for fit), upper rack must be Viking unless you can exact-match the Asko or Bosch equivalent.

Possible fix: remove the loose plastic coating and flaking rust with a knife, ruff plastic coating with ScotchBrite, clean with rubbing alcohol, then treat metal/rust with "rust converter" (hardware or home imp store), wash with soapy water, rinse, then clean with rubbing alcohol, dry fully, coat with "high temp" (orange or yellow) silicone sealant (auto part store), covering exposed metal and a half inch or so over the plastic coating. Let set for a day or two.

A trip through the dishwasher for all your stained stainless, glasses and non-metallic coated or non-metallic decorated dishes with Lime A-Way as above (on new or "rebuilt" racks) should get the metallic scum and rust off them.

I have a Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher and the 3rd level spinner broke off. I have a new one and now need to know how to replace it.

the manifold in the back of the dishwasher needs to come out. you can either pop it all the way out it only undo it halfway if your arm is small enough.. there are either 2 tension clips or 2 screws holding it to the top and back. if you undo the top of the manifold and pull it down you should be able to slide the new part in place. the plastic push pin goes on top of the manifold and the spinner goes on the other side. it may be a little difficlt to push the 2 together..

Thanks for the help. Like the other guy said the "ninga star" thing unscrews and using the plastic part inside I just pop the spray arm back on. Screw it back and it works again.
