The spring that provides tension to the belt may not be strong enough. Replace the spring & the belt. You can get this parts from this site http://eapparts.partsquik.com/
This is a known problem with the motor, not the solenoid!!! You may have to replace the motor. A way to check is when it stops, unplug the power cord and touch the motor side frame. If the motor is hot that's your problem. Be sure to unplug the power plug to the motor and look inside the connector for a burnt spot. You might just need to replace the connector.
The powder is belt wear. Not to worry though, they last a long time. There is always some wear on all belts as they slide into the channel on the pulley.
not sure on model but if its like any other washer look to see where the belt runs around should run around motor and a big wheel looking thing that joins to tub on the moter there should be three nuts and bolts 2 to keep it aginst bulk of washer an 1 that should be able to ajust losen this one move the motor so there is enough room to put new belt on make sure that the belt goes in the runners of the motor and drum part use a large screw driver to lever the motor so belt goes tight and still with the tension on belt fasten the nut up harder to describe than actually do hope this helps ivan uk
the belt may be old and stretched/slipping...if it is stretched and slipping it will cause the squealing .............otherwise, check the pulley for the belt/motor to see if it is okay and the motor itself copuld be worn out if the belt looks ok............be careful, you can get zapped if you touch a wire and also if the motor is burned up it can cause a fire so watch carefully and you should be able to see which of these possibilities are the problem..............
sounds like you have a bad transmission. can you lift the top up so you can see what it is doing when it is trying to spin. does it adgetate and spin at the same time? If yes you have a bad transmission. also if you get 2 people one looking inside of the drum and the other turning the big pulley in one direction it should turn the whole drum in the other the agetator should go back and forth. Tell me what happens thanks.
I have a Whirlpool Washer Model LXR6232EQ0. Yesterday something happened
after it drained during the rinse cycle. It wouldn't spin. It makes a
noise like the moter is trying to spin but there is a slight tinkle once
in a while. Could it be the motor coupling or do you think it is the
clutch. The agitator doesn't spin at all. does it have a belt?
Travioso, there was two service flashes out on this model concerning the seal and bearing which means they had an issue with this washer. The howling noise you are hearing is the bearing and will need the new designed triple seal and bearing kit. This should be covered under your warranty, I believe it is 5 years. The numbers for the service flashes are TDL-0048A-B. Call Maytag and inquire about these service flashes, these should be covered. Catriver.
