Refrigerator stopped working

There was frost on back wall of freezer, the refrigerator was not cooling, the fan was working.

After defrosting, we closed it up to see if that helped. Now everything has stopped completely and now we have a single flashing light on the freezer indicator, middle light (on door...no label, no clue what it means).

No ice.... refrigerator getting warm..... freezer also getting warm

here are a couple of things to check. First look at the back inside wall of the freezer and see if it is getting coated with frost or snow. If yes, you probably have a problem with the defrost system usually the defrost heater burns out first. Once you replace the heaters, all the excess frost has to be melted off the cooling coils behind that wall. A hair dryer works well for this. Another thing t check is the fan motor that is back behind that same wall. If the fan stops for any reason--- you loose cooling on both sides.

My refrigerator is not getting cold

Is the freezer freezing? Do you hear a fan motor running inside the freezer? If the freezer fan is working and the freezer is still getting cold, do you see allot of frost on the back wall of the freezer?

Freezer not cooling at all - t-stat or compressor would be where to check next

No fan running in freezer and freezer is cold - bad evaporator fan motor.

If fan is running and you have heavy frost on the back wall of freezer - unit is not defrosting. could be defrost timer or defrost t-stat

Top section not working

If there is a lot of frost build up on the back wall of the freezer section you are having a defrost problem and the coils behind that wall are filling up with ice restricting air flow and letting fan blades hit it. If not a lot of frost the evap fan motor is going bad which is also located behind the freezer wall. Good luck.

GE refrigerator model PSS27MGMBB Freezer is not working

Open the freezer door and look at the back wall. If there is frost on the back wall, you have a defrost problem, which means air cannot circulate over the cooling coils located behind the freezers back wall. You will have to remove the back wall and melt all the frost with a hair blower, then replace the defrost heater. (part number WR51X10055) . This is assuming that the fan by the compressor and the one inside the freezer are working.

Jenn-air JRSD 226 side by side Fridge

Check to see if there is frost on the rear wall o f the freezer wall. If so, the units cooling coils (behind the frost) may be covered with ice. Defrosting is necessary. The refrigerator may not be defrosting at regular intervals a required. Standing open for a couple of days should defrost it but it will still be necessary to find out why it frosted over. There is a defrost control that automatically melts ice from the cooling coils on a regular basis. Maybe this control is not functioning.

GE Side by Side Refrigerator

Check for frost on the back wall of the freezer section. If no frost buildup is noted check that the condenser under the refrigerator behind a removable panel in back is clean and that the fan there operates when the compressor runs.

If you have frost buildup in the freezer section on the back wall you have a defrost system problem. These problems are not related to the cleaning ladies work unless some paper or other item may be stopping the fan from turning.

The fridge section of my LG GRB218JUDA has stopped working and the temperature indicator reads Err FF. Can you help

Side by side and other refrigerators are controlled or cooled by one system. Look to the freezer side for frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer. Frost buildup on the back wall of the freezer stops the air that cools the refrigerator from circulating. Frost on the back wall indicates a problem in the defrost circuit related to the timing device, heaters or defrost thermostat.

THE REFRIGERATOR AND THE FREEZER HAVE QUIT COOLING. HOWEVER THE FAN AND THE LIGHT IS WORKING. WHAT CAN I CHECK

Check the back wall of the freezer compartment for snow or frost buildup. Fan running would indicate that the temperature of the coil which cools is cold. If you find a frost buildup on the back wall you more than likely have a problem in the system defrost circuit. You need a service tech.

Kenmore Trio 596.75509400

Generally speaking if the refrigerator does not cool and you have frost on the back wall of the freezer it suggests a defrost problem.
However since the refrigerator started working by itself it would point to an air circulation problem from the fan in the freezer compartment failing to operate. The frost on the back wall without the fan operating would cause frost buildup because the heat is still trying to get to the coil through the back wall. If your refrigerator freezer has a door fan light switch something holding the door partly open would cause the fan not to operate. Look for a button or toggle and manually push it in. You should hear the fan turn on and the light will go off.

Whirlpool top freezer problem

Check for frost build-up behind back wall in freezer. If there is a heavy frost build-up, it's not defrosting. This will restrict airflow to refigerator section and can stop fan. If fan is stuck again and it's not because of frost, replace evaporator fan motor.
