Yes, I use them for a year, and then they sell them.

Is there a problem?

OH, C'MON I'M JUST KIDDING!

1) Is the computer dirty inside?

The two major issues with desktop computer failure, is the computer is dirty inside; and Power Supply failure.

SOURCE: how can i do a

This indicates you have no resident restore partition on your hard disk drive. The easiest way is to put your Windows OS CD in the PC and startup. It should ask if you want to start from CD. Say yes and follow the instructions. You may need to press F2 or 10 to change the bootup sequence to start from the CD if it doen not do it automatically.
Thanks

SOURCE: Internet Exployer keeps crashing & I don't know what else to do.

We had a problem like this with one of our PCs and it was a very nasty virus that needed specialist help, they had to reload all the software. Suggest you get access to another PC and find out if it is a virus. Sorry!

SOURCE: computer wont turn on

Test your PSU power supply unit or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle of restarting or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive power and data cables IDE SATA

the leads from your MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your dvd\cd floppy drives have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

computers need power and data to travel through every working device to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

even something as small as a faulty electrical or fan lead can cause you problems

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail

check all electrical power input and extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

also check the Cmos battery and computer RAM modules make sure they are securely seated with no dust built up or in the sockets on some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

check you CPU central processing unit make sure its securely seated and has thermal paste it might be getting to hot the thermal paste will help disperse the heat

Thermal compound is a sticky paste that is placed directly onto the CPU.

Allowing for a more direct heat transfer between the CPU and HEAT SINK and preventing air gaps from forming between the CPU and heat sink.

hope this helps

SOURCE: the power button on my computer won't turn on the computer

if no any power indicator at the front and also the fan at the power supply as will as in the mother board, it was a power supply failure.

My compaq presario CQ61 crashed. Have tried recovery but everything has failed. I have got as far as installing window files but it now is asking for the installation disc - I have not got one

You tried recover and it failed, and now you are trying to reinstall windows but you don't have system disc. Hmmm, have you tried rebooting and going into safe mode. Just curious, but you've probably wiped out your operating system by now doing the two things that failed.

You're going to need an operating system disc to get you out of this.

It keeps shutting itself off ?

When does it shut itself off? Is this happening time you press the power button and during the boot cycle it shuts off without completing the boot to windows? If it shuts down after you've worked on it for a while it could be that it is running hot. If you let it sit a while to cool off then press the power button, if it completes the boot cycle and allows you to work it is definitely running hot. Normally when they run hot if you immediately try to reboot, it will fail. If you let it cool off it will boot successfully. Computers run hot because of a fan not working, dust clogging the fan vents or the Thermal Paste around the CPU and Heat Sink has become hard or too thin to keep the unit cool. If it's not running hot you might have a power supply or motherboard issue. Try removing the power cord and press and hold the Power Button for 30 seconds to release any Static Buildup. Then plug the power cord back in and try to reboot.

Hi

Read the mention below note to increase your laptop battery life.

1. Defrag regularly - The faster your hard drive does its work - less demand you are going to put on the hard drive and your battery. Make your hard drive as efficient as possible by defragging it regularly. (but not while it's on battery of course!) Mac OSX is better built to handle fragmentation so it may not be very applicable for Apple systems.
2. Dim your screen - Most laptops come with the ability to dim your laptop screen. Some even come with ways to modify CPU and cooling performance. Cut them down to the lowest level you can tolerate to squeeze out some extra battery juice.
3. Cut down on programs running in the background. Itunes, Desktop Search, etc. All these add to the CPU load and cut down battery life. Shut down everything that isn't crucial when you're on battery.
4. Cut down external devices - USB devices (including your mouse) & WiFi drain down your laptop battery. Remove or shut them down when not in use. It goes without saying that charging other devices (like your iPod) with your laptop when on battery is a surefire way of quickly wiping out the charge on your laptop battery.
5. Add more RAM - This will allow you to process more with the memory your laptop has, rather than relying on virtual memory. Virtual memory results in hard drive use, and is much less power efficient. Note that adding more RAM will consume more energy, so this is most applicable if you do need to run memory intensive programs which actually require heavy usage of virtual memory.

6. Run off a hard drive rather than CD/DVD - As power consuming as hard drives are, CD and DVD drives are worse. Even having one in the drive can be power consuming. They spin, taking power, even when they?re not actively being used. Wherever possible, try to run on virtual drives using programs like Alcohol 120% rather than optical ones.
7. Keep the battery contacts clean: Clean your battery's metal contacts every couple of months with a cloth moistened with rubbing alcohol. This keeps the transfer of power from your battery more efficient.
8. Take care of your battery - Exercise the Battery. Do not leave a charged battery dormant for long periods of time. Once charged, you should at least use the battery at least once every two to three weeks. Also, do not let a Li-On battery completely discharge. (Discharing is only for older batteries with memory effects)
9. Hibernate not standby - Although placing a laptop in standby mode saves some power and you can instantly resume where you left off, it doesn't save anywhere as much power as the hibernate function does. Hibernating a PC will actually save your PC's state as it is, and completely shut itself down.

10. Keep operating temperature down - Your laptop operates more efficiently when it's cooler. Clean out your air vents with a cloth or keyboard cleaner, or refer to some extra tips by
11. Set up and optimize your power options - Go to 'Power Options' in your windows control panel and set it up so that power usage is optimized (Select the 'max battery' for maximum effect).
12. Don't multitask - Do one thing at a time when you're on battery. Rather than working on a spreadsheet, letting your email client run in the background and listening to your latest set of MP3′s, set your mind to one thing only. If you don't you'll only drain out your batteries before anything gets completed!
13. Go easy on the PC demands - The more you demand from your PC. Passive activities like email and word processing consume much less power than gaming or playing a DVD. If you've got a single battery charge - pick your priorities wisely.
14. Get yourself a more efficient laptop - Laptops are getting more and more efficient in nature to the point where some manufacturers are talking about all day long batteries. Picking up a newer more efficient laptop to replace an aging one is usually a quick fix.
15. Prevent the Memory Effect - If you're using a very old laptop, you'll want to prevent the 'memory effect' - Keep the battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries (which most laptops have) which do not suffer from the memory effect.

HI I have a D865 PERL m/b. The CPU overheated, due to a load of dust blocking the heatsink fins. I have cleaned it all up and the heatsink should be fine now, but when I try and boot I get a message...

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
or
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
Also you might try
Turn Off the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10 key,ie: Alt+F10, it will open the recovery console ,select full factory restore and follow on screen instruction. (Note:this will erase all datas on the computer)

today is july 15, 2011. i just came across this problem today. i have a connecticut electric spa disconnect panel and the part fh-20j-4 went bad too. it was about 3 years old. the spring loaded breaker would not retract automatically like it is supposed to do. i had been doing work in my home which required me to shut off the main power a few times. the last time i shut it off, my spa didn't come back on once power was restored. i didn't find out until later that evening when i wanted to get in my tub. i checked it out the next morning cause i've had problems with the panel resetting a few times before after a power ottage. this time it would only work if i held in the spring loaded breaker. i called connecticut electric at 1-1866-822-0453 and told them about the problem and gave them the part number. the person took my contact information and told me she would send me the part free of charge. try calling them. the number listed above is to their indiana office. hope this helps.
